Volunteers Needed – We Need Your Help

Our Salvation Army Thrift Store urgently needs more volunteers.

Like many organizations, we’re currently operating with a smaller staff team than we’d like. While we’d love to hire more employees, our budget simply doesn’t allow for it right now. That’s where our amazing community can make all the difference.

Whether you can give a few hours each week or just a few hours each month, your time matters. We have a variety of volunteer opportunities available, from sorting donations and pricing merchandise to helping customers and working behind the scenes.

Every hour you volunteer helps keep our store running, supports affordable shopping in our community, and helps The Salvation Army continue serving Parry Sound.

Did you know that Captain Kyron, one of our Officers (Pastor), not only plays a whole collection of instruments—he writes music too? 🎶

We’re excited to share that he recently had a second song selected and published by Salvation Worship! “We Belong” is part of the newly released Salvation Worship Volume 12 and is now available on Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube Music.

🎬 Sanctuary Cinema is back!

Join us next Wednesday, August 5 at 6:30 p.m. as we watch Soul Surfer together on the big screen.

Come enjoy a free movie night in our air-conditioned sanctuary—with comfy seats and snacks provided! This is a community event, and everyone really is welcome. Bring a friend, bring the family, or come on your own—the more, the merrier! We'd love to meet you.

🌧️ Cottage Meeting Venue Change for Tonight

Due to the ongoing rain today, tonight’s Cottage Meeting will be moved indoors to the church.

We will still be gathering together for a time of singing, fellowship, and community at 6:30pm at The Salvation Army Rainbow Country Church, 61 Gibson Street.

Tonight we’re kicking off our summer Cottage Meetings with a relaxed gathering on the front lawn of the church.

Cottage Meetings have been a summer tradition in our church family for many years — a simple time of singing, sharing in fellowship, and spending time together in community.

There’s no pressure and no need to know what to expect. Just bring a lawn chair if you have one, come as you are, and join us for a warm and welcoming evening together.

Hi friends! 👋

As I was scrolling social media this morning, this image stopped me in my tracks. After spending time together yesterday in Exodus 14, this word art felt like a fitting reminder for the start of a new week.

When Moses spoke these words, the Israelites were standing between an army and a sea. They couldn’t see a way forward, but God could. Sometimes Monday arrives with a long to-do list, worries, decisions, or situations that feel bigger than we are. In those moments, may we remember that our hope is not found in having all the answers, but in the God who goes before us.

Whatever this week holds, may you know the peace of God’s presence, the strength of His faithfulness, and the confidence that He is already at work—even when you can’t yet see the way through.

The Gathering is back this Sunday (May 24) at 4:00pm! 🎉

The Gathering really has become such a meaningful space for connection, conversation, laughter, questions, and growing in faith together. As we begin Season 3 of The Chosen, we’d love for you to join us.

And here’s the good news: you do NOT need to have seen Seasons 1 or 2 to come! This isn’t an exclusive club or a Bible study where you need all the answers. It’s simply a place to gather—whether you’ve been in church your whole life, you’re new to faith, or you’re just curious. The Chosen series has been incredible!

Each week, we watch an episode together, share some thoughts, enjoy snacks, and make space for honest conversation and community.
