The community of St. Anne & St. Edmunds is part of the Anglican diocese of Islands and Inlets. visit us Sundays at 1pm! St. Here at St.

We offer a place of worship, community, teaching and sharing where ALL are welcome no matter where they are in their spiritual journey! Edmund is the Anglican presence here in beautiful, Parksville, BC. As an affirming community church with strong lay and clergy leaders where all are welcome to join us for worship on Sunday's at 1pm. Edmunds we strive to be a safe space for spiritual growth and exploration, and compassionate action where ALL are welcome to discover who they are as beloved of our Creator.

As we gathered in peace for worship, we recognize that there are many heavy hearts over the tragedy at CFB Wainwright. And so as people of God bound by love and service let us pray...

Lord of all compassion,
We pray for all those involved in the sudden devastation at CFB Wainwright. And ask that their may be a sense of comfort, community and strength amidst the rubble and chaos. We pray for those who have lost their lives, for the injuried, for the terrified and shaken, and all whom continue to wait for news of people they love.

We ask that you sustain the first responders, rescue workers, medical teams, and all who labor to save lives and bring order out of destruction at home and abroad. And finally, we pray for all who have served in this place and who are impacted by this tragedy and ask for your peace and courage to be with them all. May there be hope and healing and may they feel our prayers rising amngst the smoke.

Today we had a beautiful displace in out service this afternoon showing Gods abundance at St. Anne and St. Edmunds!

It was a wonderful visual reminder of why we gather, why we pray and why we give thanks - because God is good, and God is here. There is a quote that says, "God has two dwellings: one is in heaven; the other is within the thankful heart." No matter who you are or where you are or how you celebrate this weekend, may you come to see the beauty and bounty that is all around us and know that here at St. Anne and St. Edmunds - we give thanks to God for YOU - our community, our neighbours, our friends.

May you be deeply blessed and be surround by love, joy and an abundance of gratitude.

Tomorrow at 1pm we will gather in St. Edmund for our Harvest Thanksging Service! Here we will sing, listen to scripture, think about God's abundance for us and share in the Eucharist together!! The whole service takes about an hour and once the final hymn is sung - we head to the hall for coffee and conversation ☕️☺️

So come - just as you are - and share in the story of God's love and abundance!! For ALL are loved beloved and welcome in this place - we cant wait to see you! 🍂

A number of months ago St. Anne and St. Edmunds parish council agreed to a new idea. This idea was something a little bit different but was approved in hopes that it might bring a little comfort, a little peace and a safe space for anyone who is carrying the weight of grief.

And today I am pleased to announce our Wind Phone is now up and ready for use. In case you dont know, a Wind Phone s a disconnected telephone placed in a quiet, natural outdoor setting—such as a garden, park, or cemetery. The phone offers people a safe place, to symbolically "call" and speak to deceased loved ones and let those words be carried on the wind.

May all those who need a safe place to sit, to pray, to share thoughts and hopes with loved ones who have died, find their way to this spot in our cemetery.... and let this sacred place be a bridge to those who've been lost.

Friends,

Due to all of our families and most of our volunteers being away for the thanksgiving weekend we have decided to CANCEL Octobers Messy Church this weekend.

BUT we will absolutely be back in November for A Messy Creation on Saturday November 14th!! So make your calendars as you wont want to miss it!

So join us and wear your Orange as we remember our collective past, honouring the lives of those harmed and those who never came home.... vowing to never forget that every child matters.

A huge thank you to all who came out this evening for our first Oceanside Messy Church! We had folks from St. Mark Qualicum Beach, St. Mary Nanoose Bay, and St Edmunds all come out to play, create, hear a story and share a delicious meal together!!! Everyone left with full bellies and full hearts and new friends!

We will meet again Saturday October 10th at 4pm - and all are welcome to join in the fun!!
