Celebrating 150 Years of Local History
High on the hill overlooking Pakenham, St. Mark’s Anglican Church has been part of our community landscape for generations. This year marks a very special anniversary. The crew at St. Mark’s behind the scenes has been busy preparing to celebrate!
For 150 years, St. Mark’s has stood witness to the changing story of Pakenham—welcoming generations through its doors and becoming part of the history, memories and traditions of our community.
This anniversary is an opportunity to recognize its history in our community. For many of us this includes remembering many of our elders who served through groups such as the Anglican Church Women (ACW). Through their fellowship, volunteerism, fundraising, meals and care for others, many helped support both their church and the community around them. Their contributions are an important part of its legacy.
Join St. Mark’s for its 150th Anniversary Roast Beef Dinner Celebration. Tickets available at Nicholson's Sundries.
Date: Sunday, October 4 at 1 p.m.
Location: Stewart Community Centre.
A celebratory church service is planned at 11:00am. All welcome.
A special historical display is also planned for the celebration, giving everyone an opportunity to learn more about St. Mark’s legacy, and its place in the history of the Heart of Pakenham
