Almost a week has passed since the Chai Life Cabaret. It’s taken us a few days to catch our collective breath and start getting some photos from our wonderful videographer and photographer, Robin Welch, but we wanted to circle back to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting us.
The sold out room, the generosity, the community, the support, the culture and kvelling, and most importantly - THE JOY - was palpable. We are filled with gratitude.
To the cast: Melanie Rosen, Voyageur Storytelling (Leslie and Paul), Cantor Paula Baruch, Amanda Martinez, Aly Boltman, Michael Den Tandt, Cantor Charles Osborne, Sue Piltch, Rabbi Steve Schonblum, Stevie Vallance, John McLelland - and to producer Joel Axler, you are all golden. We were so fortunate to have you all on the team to help make the collective magic.
To the silent auction donors - your generosity knows no bounds.
To Gary Byers and Vaughan Coffey, thanks for making us sound so good. You made it look easy but we know it was anything but!
To St. George’s, and Anne Asten in particular, thank you for somehow making a church hall feel like home to our little (mostly all Jewish) ensemble.
And to the crowd - we saw the tears, we saw you squished in like sardines, we saw the smiles, we heard you sing, we heard your laughter. You put the air under our wings and some love back into our hearts.
On behalf of the Beth Ezekiel Synagogue and our talented crew, thank you all.
