On Sunday, June 7 we will worship at St. Mark’s at 10:00am with a Morning Prayer service led by one of our amazing lay leaders. The second Sunday after Pentecost brings us into the heart of Jesus’s ministry, where we encounter two key themes: the calling of the unlikely, and the power of healing. The stories of Matthew’s call and Jesus’s healing acts emphasize restorative mercy. Remember, all are loved; all are welcome! Come and See!

On Sunday May 17, at 10:00am, the St. Mark’s congregation will hold a service of Holy Communion, led by the Reverend Susan Anholt. In our assigned scripture from Luke 24:44-53 we encounter the Ascension… Simply put, God loves this broken world, and so he sends Jesus, and when the God of heaven came to dwell on earth, the Word became flesh. From there the Word went around preaching and teaching. It was baptized, crucified, and buried. The Word rose again, walked to Emmaus, appeared to the disciples, and even ate a piece of fish (bless his heart). Finally, the scriptures tell us, the Word was carried up to heaven. But there is more, Jesus in turn sends the church — into the world, for the love of the world! And I know that you know this, but I am going to say it anyway. What is the church? It is you and I. Remember, all are loved; all are welcome! Come and See!

On Sunday, May 10, at 10:00am, the St. Mark’s congregation will celebrate a service of Morning Prayer led by one of our amazing lay leaders. In our scripture Jesus tells us that “If you love me, you will keep my commandments” and we have more explicit words of love, ongoing support, and revelation. It reads, “They who have my commandments and keep them are those who loves me; and those who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love them and reveal myself to them.” Did you happen to notice what comes first? It is the love and from the foundation of love, all other things will naturally follow… Remember, all are loved; all are welcome! Come and See!

Prayer for Rogation Sunday:
Almighty God, Creator of heaven and earth: We humbly
pray that your gracious providence may give and preserve to
our use the harvests of the land and of the seas, and may
prosper all who labor to gather them, that we, who are
constantly receiving good things from your hand, may
always give you thanks; through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who
lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for
ever and ever. Amen.
