Today is the Fifteenth Sunday After Pentecost, and the reading is from Psalm 119: 33-35.

Teach me, O Lord, the way of your statutes, and I shall keep it to the end.

Give me understanding, and I shall keep your law; I shall keep it with all my heart.

Make me go in the path of your commandments, for that is my desire.

Donations to the Hearts of Compassion Fund support the Community Ministries of the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa. They provide meals, shelter, professional counselling, refugee sponsorship, and other essential services across our Diocese. Belong Ottawa is one of those ministries.

Every meal shared, shower provided, and respite offered is about more than meeting an immediate need. These moments create opportunities for connection, dignity, and belonging, helping people build stability and hope for the future.

In July 2026, Belong Ottawa’s programs:

-Served 18,019 meals
-Offered 1,489 respites
-Washed 798 loads of laundry
-Provided 714 showers

Its three programs are Centre 454, St. Luke’s Table, and The Well; all of which provide necessary services to people who need them in Ottawa.

Today is the Fourteenth Sunday After Pentecost, and the reading is from Psalm 105: 1-3.

The Lord has always been mindful of his covenant.

Give thanks to the Lord and call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples.

Sing to him, sing praises to him, and speak of all his marvellous works.

Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.

At first glance, Saint Bede’s Church in Nolan's Corners looks like a simple 1886 red-brick building. But there's more here than you think! ⛪️✨

Unlike the grand stone churches of the 19th century, Saint Bede’s was quietly revolutionary. It broke tradition with its modest entrance, medieval-style gables, unique namesake, and a steep flight of steps up to the altar.
