Today is the Second Sunday after Pentecost, and the reading is from Psalm 33: 4-7.

For the word of the Lord is right, and all his works are sure.

He loves righteousness and justice; the loving kindness of the Lord fills the whole earth.

By the word of the Lord were the heavens made, by the breath of his mouth all the heavenly hosts.

He gathers up the waters of the ocean as in a water-skin and stores up the depths of the sea.

Today is Trinity Sunday, and the reading is from Genesis 2:2-3.

And on the seventh day God finished the work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all the work that he had done.

So God blessed the seventh day and hallowed it, because on it God rested from all the work that he had done in creation.
