Roll up your sleeves and join us for a community cleanup at 1989 Prince of Wales Drive on Saturday, May 23 at 10 a.m.

Let’s come together, get some fresh air, and make our church grounds shine.

Everyone is welcome — especially our youth and elementary school students. It’s a great chance to hang out, help out, and take pride in our parish.

Please bring gloves and any helpful tools such as brooms, rakes, shovels, or shrub shears.

🌿 Join Us for Trojčindanski Sabor — A Day of Faith, Tradition, and Celebration!

On # Sunday, May 31, on the glorious Feast of the Descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles, we warmly invite you to our Trojčindanski Sabor — a joyful gathering of our entire community.

The celebration will begin right after the Liturgy at noon, and we are preparing a wonderful feast, featuring:
-succulent lamb and pork roasts,
-delicious grilled specialties,
- and a warm atmosphere filled with fellowship and tradition.

🍷 White Wine Competition — Knights of St. Trifun

In the church port, the Knights of St. Trifun will host their legendary white wine competition.

This beloved tradition needs your participation! Guests will taste, judge, and help crown the best white wine of the year.

Come cheer on these “knightly giants” and witness the possible historic moment when Šljokić may finally be dethroned by the relentless Brđa wine artillery.

Along with medals and cups for the winning wine, we will also award special medals for the best tasters — so your palate might just win a prize too.

Обавјештавамо вас да ћемо у недјељу, 31. маја, на дан силаска Светог Духа на апостоле, почев од поднева, организовати тројчиндаски сабор. Припремићемо јагњеће и прасеће печење, као и јела са роштиља.

Витезови Светог Трифуна ће у хладу Витешког гаја, у црквеној порти, укрстити винска копља одржавајући традиционално такмичење бијелих вина и дати свима вама прилику да одлучите чије је вино најбоље. Дођите и подржите ово традиционално надметање витешких дивова, и будите свједоци историјског скидања Шљокића и са бијелог трона под налетом неумољиве брђанске винске артиљерије.

Већ традиционално, витезови ће, поред пехара и медаља за најбоље бијело вино, додијелити и медаље за најбоље дегустаторе.

У случају лошег времена, догађаји ће бити одржани у српском центру.

Dear children and parents,
The International Languages Program of the Ottawa–Carleton District School Board is offering a virtual summer Serbian language program from July 6 to July 31, 2026.

This is a wonderful opportunity for children to stay connected to the Serbian language and culture during the summer — all from home, in a fun and interactive online environment.

🌟 URGENT CALL FOR SERBIAN LANGUAGE INSTRUCTORS — 2026/2027 SCHOOL YEAR

Dear members of our community,

Our Serbian language program in Ottawa is growing faster than ever! This year we proudly welcomed 103 students across 7 classes, from kindergarten to grade eight — a record number that shows how deeply our children value their language and heritage.

But now we need your help.

Two of our dedicated instructors are unable to continue next year, and with enrollment expected to rise again, we urgently need at least two new instructors — ideally more.
Let’s make sure every child who wants to learn Serbian has a place in the classroom.

📚 About the Program

Classes are offered through the Ottawa‑Carleton District School Board’s International Languages Program and take place:

🗓️ Saturdays, 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM
📍 Broadview Public School, 535 Dovercourt Ave, Ottawa

The schedule is family‑friendly:
No classes on long weekends
No classes during winter break
School year runs from September to mid‑June
Teaching averages three Saturdays per month

🌈 Why This Role Matters

ХИТНО ПОТРЕБНИ ИНСТРУКТОРИ СРПСКОГ ЈЕЗИКА ЗА НАСТАВУ У ШКОЛСКОЈ 2026/2027. ГОДИНИ
Поштовани чланови наше заједнице,

Настава српског језика у Отави са околином се одвија у оквиру International Languages Program при Ottawa- Carleton Distrist School Board.

Ове школске године смо имали уписан рекордан број ђака, укупно 103, расподељених у 7 одељења. Узраст деце је од ЈК закључно са осмим разредом основне школе.

Нажалост, два инструктора због својих пословних и приватних обавеза не могу наставити рад у следећој школској години.

Стога су нам ХИТНО потребна бар два инструктора, а пожељно би било и више, јер очекујемо даљи пораст уписаних ђака. Не дозволимо да се због мањка инструктора смањује број одељења!

Настава се одвија суботом, од 9:30 до 12:00 у школи Broadview Public School 535 Dovercourt Ave, Ottawa, ON K2A 0T2. Рад се своди у просеку на три пута седмично, јер када је државни празник, та субота се не ради. Школска година траје од септембра до прве половине јуна. Такође се не ради за време зимског распуста.

изложбе под насловом „Импресије простора“ уметника Дамира Куљанина - Дамока.

Изложба слика, води нас на јединствено визуелно путовање, спајајући наизглед неспојиво, топлину завичаја, сурову лепоту канадских предела и опојну светлост Медитерана. Кроз дела постављена у Галерији Српског парохијског центра у Отави, Дамир нас позива да размислимо о сопственим завичајима и оним просторима који су нас формирали и онима за којима чезнемо. Уметник својим делом поручује да је лепота свуда око нас, ако знамо да је посматрамо правим очима. Оно што повезује све његове радове су чисте боје, пуно светлости и прича, коју свака слика има. У питању су сложене композиције које носе јаку поруку, и сигурно ће изазвати интересовање и емоције код посматрача.

Изложба ће се одржати у просторијама Галерије Српског парохијског центра, на адреси 1989 Prince of Wales Drive и биће отворена за посетиоце наредне 3 седмице у одређеним терминима који ће бити објављени.
