2 Samuel 5:19 AMP
David inquired of the LORD.....”

Do you know why David is so intimate with the Lord (I mean you will see it all over the book of Psalms). David prays about everything.
Betrayal from his son, his goals for the work the Lord has given him, for his generation, for his dynasty...David prayed about everything.

In this prayer we see in 2 Samuel 5:19, David was a KING in waiting, and a Prophet He could have decided to pursue the adversary because naturally it makes sense. But David inquired of the Lord.

As a parent your plans for your children will follow a natural course.

Are they ready for school? apply for one
Are they due for potty training? Teach them
Are they ready to be independent? Give them responsibilities

But a Parent after God's heart like David should always inquire of the Lord.

You are not inquiring because you are incapable of making good decisions, you are inquiring because the Lord who has 360 view and knows what is ahead in tomorrow will give you counsel and perspective that you did not consider.

Perfect parents know how to seek God's perspective about anything concerning their child(ren).

Father I thank You for this wonderful Parent reading this, that the spirit of prayer be found in their journey as parents again. Give them a home built firm on the Lord Jesus Christ who is the Prince of peace-giving us parenting peace that surpases all understanding. Grant them according to Your name wise counsel every moment of the way. And may their children be fruitful olive shoots surrounding them in their old age.Amen

Our human fathers correct us for a short time, and they do it as they think best. But God corrects us for our own good, because he wants us to be holy, as he is.

Moses’ parents had faith. So they hid him for three months after he was born. They saw he was a special child. They were not afraid of the king’s command.

How do I make room for parenting in my very demanding life?

You are not alone! I can relate, yes!
Between work, home maintenance activities, self-care, handling your friendships and personal development, being intentional about shepherding kids whether as a teacher or parent can be tough!

It all begins with renewing your mind about what is priority in your season. You know when the Bible said in Ecclesiates 3:1 onwards that there is a time for everything? It is so true!

As christian parents we are shepherds. Jesus Christ called His disciples, the flock. What do shepherds do? Guide, protect, pull the sheep out of trouble, feed and clean the flock from lice or tick that causes disease.
Shepherds are not doing all these all the time. There is a time and a place in the life of the flock for each of these activities.

Time Management is like packing a travel case for travel, if you throw your clothes into the case without folding them and smart placement, you will not make much of the space.

TIME MANAGEMENT IS A PULLEY FOR EFFECTIVE PARENTING.
