RIP Georges Bouliane



Last Sunday, 3 May 2026, Georges Bouliane passed away . Besides his family, our parish will miss him deeply, as will the Knights of Columbus and his former students and colleagues at St.George School and the Ottawa Catholic School Board.

Without Georges' energy, leadership, competence and fidelity, St. George's parish would not be what it is today, it might not exist at all. We all and I personally owe him immense gratitude. You can read his obituary on sootoday.com . The photo below is from when Georges received the Benemerenti Medal (a papal honour) in 2018.

The Funeral Mass for Georges will be held in our church on Monday, 11 May 2026, at 11:00am , reception to follow in the parish hall.

I encourage you to attend the funeral Mass, and in any case to pray for Georges, his family and our community, see also the prayer to our patron Saint included below.

Prayer to St. George for the Deceased
(Adapted from the Akathist to St. George)

O most blessed St George the Martyr, you loved our Saviour Jesus Christ with all your soul and heart. Through your fervent intercession, you have shown power over death. We beseech you, look down with compassion upon our deceased brother Georges.
By your valiant faith, intercede with God to grant rest to your servant Georges in a place of light, joy, and peace, where there is no pain or grief. May his soul be welcomed into the presence of the Lord, whom you served with your life. Through the victory of our Lord Jesus Christ, and your help, may he rejoice forever in the heavenly kingdom.
Amen.
