The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the official name of the religion commonly called the Mormon Church. A note on the church structure and organization (we have our own lingo!):

The church

is divided into territories called "stakes", and each stake is headed by a Stake President, two Counselors, and a Stake High Council, who act as advisers in the regions. Individual congregations within the Stakes are called "Wards". The leader of a Ward holds the title of Bishop, who also has two Counselors. All regional Latter-day Saint leaders are lay appointments, meaning that they are unpaid volunteer positions. Disclaimer:
