It’s the start of a new ministry year, and we can’t wait to begin! Many of our ministries kick off this week.

God can work in mighty ways in your life. Getting plugged in to one of these ministries may play a part in that! There are so many opportunities to learn from God’s Word and build community with other believers.

Reminder: this Sunday, September 6 we will be gathered as one for a joint worship service at 10:00am. It will be outside on the lawns by the Chapel entrance.

This will be a beautiful morning where we will celebrate our unity in Christ. Together we will worship, take communion, learn from God’s Word, and enjoy fellowship as one church body.

Come ready to worship outside: bring a lawn chair, water bottle, and packed lunch to enjoy after service.

Please note that there will be no MetKids Sunday School offered on this day, so children will sit together with their families.

Livestream will be available in the Chapel and for those tuning in online.

For those with accessibility needs, you may park in the spaces close to the Chapel entrance or the regular accessible parking spaces.

“Quizzing helps me memorize the Bible and enjoy doing it!”

Build your life on the living, active Word of God. Commit it to memory and see how it transforms your life and your prayers.

Bible Quizzing is a discipleship ministry that motivates young people (Grade 6 to 12) to learn and memorize God's Word through competitive Bible memorization. It fosters teamwork, fellowship, and a deeper understanding of Scripture.

We meet on Sundays at 1:00pm and travel for tournaments throughout the year.

Want to check it out this year? Come to the orientation meeting, explaining the ins and outs of the ministry, on Sunday, September 6th at 1:00PM at The Met in the Theater (2nd floor).

Salvation is not earned, it’s given.

What does God require of us? To work hard to earn salvation? To love perfectly? To give only a part of our lives to Him?

What God requires is repentance and faith and total surrender. And from that place of total surrender, we grow in our love for God and love for people.

God answered prayers in many ways during the outreach camp in the Banff-Ledbury community last week. About 21 children attended throughout the week, with around 15 joining us each day. It was a mix of both returning children from our Christmas and Resurrection Sunday events and new children from the community.

One prayer from previous years was that the children would be eager to come. This year, some children arrived up to 30 minutes early! Our camp has become something these children genuinely want to be part of.

It was encouraging to see children returning with the Bibles they received at last year’s camp, and several choosing to take a Bible home this year.

Most importantly, we were thankful for opportunities to share the message of Jesus. The children responded positively to the lessons, and some expressed a desire to have Jesus in their lives. One family said they would like their kids to begin attending Sunday School at The Met and plan to join us this Sunday.

There were also opportunities to listen and pray. Some children opened up about challenges they are facing, giving us the privilege of praying with them, demonstrating they are not forgotten and they are loved.

We’re thankful for the snack donations from the congregation for summer camps, which were used at this camp as well. And we are so grateful for the prayer support. Every prayer and every act of support makes a difference. To God be the glory!

Summer is wrapping up, and our Seniors' ministry is hosting a Summer Farewell BBQ. Come to The Met on Thursday, September 3 at 11:00am to share a meal, enjoy fellowship, and play games.

A friendly reminder to those who signed up to bring finger desserts—please don’t forget! If you didn’t sign up but would like to bring something, you are more than welcome to do so.

We have extended the Early Bird pricing for the Tell the Next Generation Conference through Thursday, September 3! If you have not yet registered, we will have a Conference Registration Desk available at the BBQ to help you register.

On Labour Day weekend, we’re doing something a little different. Instead of our regular two services, we are gathering together as one church family for a joint worship service at 10:00am. It will be outside on the lawns by the Chapel entrance.

Let’s worship together as one. Let’s celebrate communion as one. Let’s learn from God’s Word as one. And let’s enjoy fellowship as one church body.

Jesus is clear on what is most important: love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength; and love your neighbour as yourself.

Pastor Joy’s message on Mark 12:28-34 reminded us of the greatest commandment. Here’s what we can do:

1️⃣ Ask what matters most (v. 28)
2️⃣ Recognize what God requires: love God, love people (vv. 29-33)
3️⃣ Do not stop “near” the kingdom (v. 34)

There is one God and He alone deserves our worship and our whole lives. God is asking for all of you, and He is worthy of all.

Our hope is not the perfection of our love for God. Our hope is in Jesus Christ who loved the Father perfectly, who obeyed the law completely, bore our sins on the cross, and rose victorious. By grace, through faith, His righteousness covers us. By the work of His Spirit living in our hearts, we are transformed and sanctified to do what we are called to do.

Yemen, located on the southern tip of the Arabian Peninsula, is one of the least reached nations in the world. After years of conflict, millions have been left displaced and in need. Christians must follow Jesus in complete secrecy, and most people have never heard the gospel. Yet God is present. Pray for a lasting spiritual renewal across this land.

As a church, let's pray for…
➡️ Peace, stability, and development that lead to lasting renewal.
➡️ Seekers to encounter Gospel truth through online and digital resources.
➡️ Protection and perseverance for Yemen’s small and growing Church.
