The gospel invitation is wide and vast - anyone may come and find forgiveness because Jesus paid it all. Salvation is a free gift of faith, not something we can earn.

Jesus says the path to life comes from surrender, not on self-centredness or seeking success according to the world’s standards. Jesus' call is clear: follow him. The one who calls you to carry your cross first carried His cross for you. The call to discipleship is costly, but so beautiful. Grace has the final word which is good news for us.

On Sunday, Pastor Rich walked us through Mark 8:22-38 and shares how Jesus is the Christ who calls for the cross.

1️⃣ We need our eyes opened to see Jesus clearly
2️⃣ We need the cross to understand why Jesus came
3️⃣ We must lose our lives to truly find them

May this call to renewed surrender point us to the simple, but profound ways, we can respond to Jesus: to repent, to believe, and to follow Him.

This year we’re bringing The Big Give to the Banff-Ledbury Community! We are taking donations from our church to do a plant giveaway for this community that we have built a relationship with over the last several years.

On Saturday, June 6, we will be handing out seeds, plants, freshly made salsa, and bibles. We will also have an 'ask the garden expert' tent and prayer tent available for residents to ask questions and spend time in prayer with our volunteers.

Seeds and plants can be donated from Sunday, May 31 until Friday, June 5. Please drop them off at the back of the Missions Café.

For more information on how to be involved, please contact our City Outreach team (Sandra Tharakan by [email protected] or Sarah Berghuis by [email protected]).

Have you had a chance to grab one of these cute mugs being sold on Sunday mornings? If not, no worries, they’ll still be available this coming Sunday!

This week, we’ll be at just one location: the Missions kiosk on the 1st floor. Our entire team will be there to connect with anyone interested in supporting the Ghana Short-Term Mission Trip.

Mug quantities are limited, so feel free to stop by the kiosk early if you’d like to get one!

Our Summer Camp volunteers are fun, engaging, encouraging, and inspiring. They help the kids have an amazing experience as they play games, make friends, sing songs, and learn from God’s Word.

We are in need of 60 adult volunteers to make our Summer Camps happen this July! Whatever your skills or gifts are, there’s a place for you.

To learn more about how you can be involved, please reach out to our MetKids team at [email protected]

Some people think, “If I could just see Jesus for myself, then I would believe.” But the Gospel of Mark shows us something deeper: many saw Him and still rejected Him.

Only God can open blind eyes.

Worshipping together as a church is such a great encouragement! It’s a help – to hear so many others singing significant things like “all my boast is in Jesus” or “I surrender all”. We are not alone in our walks. We can be strengthened to know that there are others striving to love and follow the Lord Jesus.

Continue declaring God’s praise throughout the week by listening to the songs we sing here on Sundays. We have a Spotify playlist called “The Met - Sunday Worship” you can look up!

This Sunday, Pastor Rich reminded us that Jesus has the power to overcome our spiritual blindness and open our eyes to see. Just like the disciples, we sometimes need lessons to be repeated in order for us to fully understand and remember.

In Mark 8:1-21, we see:

1️⃣ Jesus has a plan, but we only see a problem
2️⃣ Unbelievers will demand a sign, but reject one when they see it
3️⃣ Disciples will see great works, but fail to fully understand

The miracle Jesus does in feeding the four thousand reveals that Jesus is the bread of life who provides in abundance, not just physically but spiritually as well. When we see how God has been faithful to us in the past, we can trust that God is with us in our present and future.

After worship service, many bought mugs to support the Ghana Short-Term Mission Trip and learned about how they can serve at MetKids Summer Camps!

By God's grace we're happy to share we have four new team members join MetKids for summer camps and they started last week! Please join us in welcoming Nadia Kudritska, Sophie Wong, Rachel Hertz, and Luke Thelen to the team! They'll be with us from May 11th to August 7th as part of the Canada Summer Jobs program.

We look forward to seeing the Lord work in and through the team this spring/summer, for His glory!

Sometimes following Christ is hard.
He calls us to trust when we don’t understand, to rejoice in trials, to give when we feel empty, and to die to self daily.

But every trial, every act of surrender, and every moment of obedience is shaping us for His glory.
