Maundy Thursday Service Cancelled
Dear friends in Christ,
We hope you are all safe in the face of the ice storm which hit our region yesterday.
As you may be aware, much of the Alta Vista area, including St Thomas the Apostle, is still out of power as a result of the effects of this storm, which has resulted in damage to power lines due to ice accumulation and falling trees and branches. At the time of writing, there is no estimated time of restoration of power to our area.
As the church is without electricity, our worship space is currently without heat and internet service has been interrupted, affecting our ability to livestream the worship service planned for this evening.
In light of the above, we must inform you that unfortunately this evening’s Maundy Thursday service of Holy Eucharist and Compline has been cancelled.
We are hopeful that power will be restored sometime later today and that the Good Friday service planned for 11:00am tomorrow will be able to proceed as planned. If power has not been restored by early tomorrow morning, we will send out another note.
Also, we would encourage you to reach out to or call other parishioners whom you think would want to know and who are not always connected to email.
With Easter hope, until we are able to gather to continue our Holy Week celebrations,
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Tim, Rev. Tom and Parish Executive
