It’s back! Our annual Strawberry Social with homemade shortcakes, local strawberries and freshly whipped cream. Your choice of beverage - coffee, tea, lemonade or water - for those dining in. Take out orders are also available. This is an important fundraising event for our outreach projects. Hope to see you on Saturday.

No photos I’m afraid but had to share the wonderful time we had this evening serving and visiting with the veterans at the Andy Carswell Building - Veterans’ House. Thank you to Karim and Dante Restaurant for providing the amazing lasagna and focaccia. Our small but mighty team of volunteers provided the salad, drinks and a wide variety of desserts and were delighted to be with these amazing individuals once again. Thank you and God Bless our veterans.

An annual tradition at St Columba is back! Mark your calendars for the holly, baked goods and jams sale on Saturday, December 20th.

Let us do your Christmas baking. The jams make a great hostess gift or stocking stuffer (and don’t forget to treat yourself)! We are hoping that this will be a stellar year for the holly being trucked to us from BC - a beautiful addition to your Christmas decor.

Advent 1 and a service of Lessons and Carols. The music was sublime and the mainly blue/silver Advent decorations so beautiful. With two singers down with a virus two others stepped in to sing a duet from The Messiah. Wow!

The Sunday School were part of the procession and each week a different family will light a candle on the Advent wreath.

How fun and meaningful for us to watch the weekly progress of Mary, Joseph and the Magi.

We would love to see you at one of our Advent or Christmas services - 10 am.

The free pop up shop on November 15th was a wonderful form of outreach to our community. Shoppers left with much needed winter clothing items and we had an opportunity to meet, visit and offer hospitality to them. A surprise visit by Ward 13 City Coincillor, Rawlson King, brought smiles to the faces of shoppers and volunteers alike.

Our thanks to all who donated clothing items and provided other support. The remaining hats, gloves/mittens and scarves went to Centre 454 and clothing to Gite Ami in Gatineau where the items were received with joy.

Thank you to Reverend Susan for bringing this outreach project to St Columba and our community.
