Merivale United Church is a welcoming and inclusive community in Ottawa (Nepean). We are drawn together through weekly worship, a strong dedication to making a positive impact through outreach, and the fun events (and food) we frequently share together. Built in 1876, our historic church building is a bright and inviting place to think, pray and sing. Outside too, the Merivale

gardeners have created an oasis in the city with our Millenium and Meditation gardens. Originally a rural church now in the heart of the city, Merivale has always grown and adapted to its ever evolving place in the world. Today we continue to be a vibrant community of all ages. All are welcome. Merivale is a two-point Pastoral Charge. Our sister church of over 50 years is Fallowfield United. Our two churches work together under the spiritual leadership of Rev. Sandra Yule.

You probably have a lot of unanswered questions about trans people and issues.

Maybe you’re worried about what’s being taught in the classroom, or about what healthcare services are being offered to trans youth. You’ve heard terms like “parental rights” thrown around. You haven’t felt able to ask your questions and get answers that make sense to you.

Whether you’re an ally, a parent or a concerned citizen, “Ask a Trans Person” is exactly what it sounds like: A space where all good-faith questions on the “trans debate” are welcome.

Join Fae Johnstone and Victoria Bucholtz, two of Canada’s most prominent trans activists, for an open conversation where you can ask your questions and get our honest answers.

Vous avez entendu des termes comme “droits parentaux” évoqués. Vous ne vous êtes pas senti capables de poser vos questions et d’obtenir des réponses qui ont du sens pour vous.

Que vous soyez un allié, un parent ou un citoyen concerné, “Posez n’importe quelle question à une personne transgenre” est exactement ce que veut dire : un espace où toutes les questions de bonne foi sur le “débat trans” sont les bienvenues.
