This past Sunday, we had the privilege of hearing Godfrey Thorogood preach from Philippians 3:10-11 on the life-changing reality of having a relationship with Jesus.

We learned that a real relationship with Jesus will be:

4️⃣ Purposeful

Three exciting things are happening this weekend at WVC:

1. Sunday is Mother's Day! Let's take some extra time to thank God for the women He has placed in our lives.

2. We are having a Parent/Child Dedication ceremony! What a great opportunity to come out and support our church body.

3. We have the privilege of hearing from Godfrey Thorogood teach from Philippians 3. Go ahead and read the passage ahead of time (it's pretty short 😉)

We look forward to celebrating together as we dig into what it means to be in a relationship with Jesus!

Are you thirsty?

God does not save us because of our merit or ability, but rather our dependence on him. This is grace!

Revelation 21:5-7
And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son.

The Holy Spirit is not just the one who gives gifts — He is the gift!

And as we receive Him, something remarkable happens: we become gifts to one another.

Unity in the body of Christ isn't primarily built by our own effort. It's God's work. Enabled through our submission to God at work within us, and to one another in love.
