What a beautiful reminder we find in Psalm 16:11, that the path of life isn’t about the possessions we own or the pursuits we chase, but is most fulfilling and most beautiful when it is walked with the presence of the Lord. May we never stray from it.

Someone once said that there’s no point in evangelizing this world anymore because it’s so dark and beyond hope, but here at Bethesda, we have a much different perspective.

We have seen what happens when God’s people, Jesus’ followers, come away to rest in the Holy Spirit and the Word. When they abandon all distractions and seek the Lord’s truth, they encounter His love in such a way that it encourages them to go back into this world and share the hope only found in knowing King Jesus!

This is not only what Christmas is all about - this is about lifelong journey with Christ. And we are so honoured to hear, witness and be part of so many of your stories, and for all who come away to seek His face.

On this Giving Tuesday, we remember these words. "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." - John 14:27-28

Peace. It is something we lack in our day and age of trying to keep up and keep going. And yet, something keeps happening here at Bethesda that defies the conventional: people are learning how to wait on God and pursue His heart.

We are forever thankful for this specialplace and how Jesus touches lives as they walk around the property, sit at the crosses, glorify His name in the meeting room, break bread in the dining room, reflect in the Chapel or Prayer Cabin or rest in their room…. We have never seen God fail to approach, comfort and speak to our guests as they seek Him with all their heart.

“Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings,”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭17‬:‭8‬ ‭(ESV‬‬).

Perhaps it is in the sanctifying journey that we can truly realize how much Jesus cares. As we bloom into the character and person God has made us to be, we discover the Spirit’s faithfulness in the process. He prunes us. He protects us in the pain. He celebrates the beauty of growth in every season. He helps our roots grow deep in His love, as we remain with Him. Thankful for the reflections from the Bethesda apple orchard!
