So honoured to participate in the 16th Annual "Holes for Hospice" tournament at The Meadows Golf and Country Club on Wednesday 2nd September, and to sponsor the Hole in One challenge at the 7th tee. No winners this year, but a couple of players got close!

Our team members included John Laframboise, Kristen Mikkelsen, Gilles Sauvé, Scott Young, Sharma Moran and Clive Weagant, who proudly represented our Capital and Kelly Funeral Homes at the event held by Hospice Care Ottawa.

It was a great day of golf, the rain held off until the final moments, and over $75,000 was raised to help support compassionate end-of-life care in our community.

A special moment of recognition today in Ottawa.

At our 2026 Summit in Saskatoon, John Laframboise was announced as the recipient of the FSAC Award of Merit, one of the highest honours our association presents. Unfortunately, John wasn’t able to join us in Saskatoon to receive the award in person.

Today, FSAC President Simon Dubé had the privilege of visiting John at Kelly Funeral Home - Kanata Chapel to personally present him with this well-deserved honour.

For more than 55 years, John has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to service, leadership and professionalism, leaving a lasting impact on Canada’s deathcare profession.

Please join us in once again congratulating John on this very well-deserved recognition!
