Greetings encourage Anglicans in Canada to hold Christians in the region in prayer.

I stand with my brother in Christ, His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, in his courageous call for a kingdom of peace.

As I prepare to visit Rome later this month to meet and pray with Pope Leo, I am mindful of his call to keep our eyes open to the suffering of the world, and our gaze fixed on our crucified and risen Lord Jesus Christ – the image of the invisible God, in whose image and likeness every human being is made. In him, we recognise that we are children of the one Father and members of a single human family. Prayer is not an escape from the world, nor a turning away from injustice; rather, it is a turning towards God in the midst of it, confronting evil, seeking God’s will, and becoming instruments of transformation and peace.

This Easter, provinces and dioceses across the global Anglican Communion, along with ecumenical groups, are sharing messages of hope, peace and resurrection in a world marked by conflict and uncertainty.

This collection brings together voices from across the Church, reflecting on the power of the risen Christ to transform lives, renew communities and inspire action for justice and reconciliation.

The Rt Revd Anthony Poggo, Secretary General of the Anglican Communion, writes:

‘Let us be a Church that shares God’s gift of peace with the world. Christ calls his Church to be a reconciling presence... Let us take up this call.’

In her first Easter message as Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Revd and Rt Hon Dame Sarah Mullally adds:

‘Our divisions, though real, do not define the final reality of the Church. The risen Christ continues to draw us to himself and to one another, and in him we find both the courage and the confidence to walk together.’

Our Primate writes…

In January, I made a solidarity visit to our siblings in the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem, bringing with me the love and support of the Anglican Church of Canada. The situation faced by Palestinian Christians—and Palestinians in general—is extremely challenging.
