NOTE: There is no Oxygen Lite this Sunday. But, we encourage you to grab a few friends, open the Bible and take some time together to grow in community!

Not sure where to start? Let us help you out!
1 - Open the Bible to a favourite verse or a random passage. Maybe try John or James if you are stuck.
2 - Read a chapter together.
3 - Talk about what stood out to each of you.
4 - Talk about how this applies to your everyday life.
5 - Pray together!

We love you Oxygen Church family and are praying that you would be BLESSED today! ❤⚡

We know that the past couple of weeks have not been easy for people around Ottawa. The one thing that continues to blow us away amidst events like these, is how this community rallies together to care for one another. Whether it be offering to help or simply checking in on one another. THIS is community.

How have you seen kindness and community play out the past couple of weeks? We want to hear your stories! 👇

Q: Why do I need to pray? Are my prayers just empty words thrown into the universe? Is anyone really listening? Do my prayers even make a difference?

A: We pray because God asks us to (Philippians 4:6-7, 1 Thessalonians 5:17). We pray because Jesus did (Mark 1:35). We pray because God hears our prayers (1 John 5:14-15). We pray because it helps us discern the voice of God (James 1:5). We pray as an expression of faith (Matthew 17:20). We pray because it is POWERFUL (James 5:16).

Imagine a world where you had FULL access to communicate with the One who created the entire universe. Imagine if that same One was still alive and able to move in your everyday life. Here's the thing... this is TRUE.

Craig Groeschel once said, "Over the years, I've learned that praying isn't just a ritualistic habit, but an intimate two-way conversation with my Heavenly Father. We are not praying to a distant, uninvolved, hard-to-please God. We are praying to a loving, caring and personal God who calls us friend."

So, maybe you've doubted its power, maybe you've questioned its necessity, but today, we challenge you to pause for just ONE minute... and PRAY. 🙏

Q: Is there evidence for God's existence?
A: Have you ever asked this question?

“The problem is not that the evidence isn’t there; it’s that we overlook the signposts because we would rather believe something else. If that describes you, I hope that you are willing to consider that God has not given up on trying to get your attention. When the sun comes up tomorrow morning, it isn’t only because of the earth’s rotation, but because God is love, and behind all the wonderful beauty of scientific study of this world, he wants us to discover the God who made it.” - Mark Clark, The Problem of God: Answering a Skeptic's Challenges to Christianity

So, let this be an encouragement to you today. Keep asking questions. Keep looking for answers. Keep having these conversations. And as you do, don't forget to look around you.

Q: Am I judged for my skepticism?
A: The short answer: No.

In The Problem of God: Answering a Skeptic's Challenges to Christianity by Mark Clark it says, "Without skepticism, you can't really have faith."

When you paint a picture in your mind of what it looks like to be a "good Christian", what do you picture? Is it a person that has it all together, who doesn't make mistakes, who doesn't doubt or question their beliefs? The truth is, this image is not real life!

Your questions are not wrong. Your questions don't make you a "bad" person. God is not afraid of your questions, and neither are we. As you ask questions and explore doubts, stay humble, keep an open mind, and surround yourself with people and resources that will come alongside you in your search!
