This fall, we’re looking at the seven churches in Revelation. Each community had their own unique struggles and strengths as they struggled to remain faithful to Christ in the context of their own neighbourhoods and culture.

As we go through this series, I am confident that Jesus will speak to our community about what faithfulness looks like for us in downtown Ottawa in 2026.

This week we will look at the first church, Ephesus. The Ephesian community highly valued truth but somewhere along the way they abandoned their first love. Join us at 4 pm at 181 First Ave as we unpack the text.

It’s Vision Sunday!

Now that Summer is over, we’re launching kids’ ministry again, worshipping in the sanctuary, and commissioning a new leadership team. It is an exciting time in the life of our church!

Join us as we pray for our new leaders who have agreed to serve on our new Vision Team this academic year, and renew our commitment to join God in his work through Bytown Community Church.

Happy Labour Day! As we wrap up the summer, here are some highlights from our community from the last few months. ☀️

If you’re looking for a community this September, you’re welcome to join us! We meet for a church service on Sundays at 4pm and for Bible study on most Wednesdays at 7:30pm. We also get together at other times for gatherings and events. We’d love to meet you!

Join us tomorrow for our end of summer celebration!

Dan will speak on Psalm 67, and then we will have a time of fellowship and blessing the local community through a freezie giveaway. After the service there will be a picnic - bring food for yourself and something to sit on! If you’re on our email list, you can check your emails for a pin that shows where in Riverain Park we’ll meet.

Thank you Johnny for serving our Church so faithfully this summer! He has been such a blessing to Bytown, and this week is his last Sunday as our intern.

In addition to saying goodbye to Johnny, Chris will be leading a discussion on Psalm 139 - “If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me.” We hope you’ll join us on Sunday August 23rd at 4pm to study the passage and worship together.

After the service, the Chook Reids are opening up their house for people to come over for dinner. We’d love to see you there for food and fellowship!

Tomorrow (the 15th) we’re going on a hike! We’re planning to gather at 10:30am at the Gatineau Park Visitor Centre, and we’ll aim to wrap up around noon. If you need a ride please let Johnny or Dan know before the end of today.



Then on Sunday, Mel will be leading a discussion on Psalm 121 - “I lift up my eyes to the mountains - where does my help come from?” We hope you’ll join us at 4pm at St. Giles on Sunday to study the passage and worship together.
