LET US PRAY FOR VOCATIONS TO THE PRIESTHOOD AND RELIGIOUS LIFE
During the 2026 Synod of Bishops of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, special attention was paid to the topic of vocations to the priesthood and religious life. In the post-synodal pastoral letter to the faithful, Patriarch Sviatoslav and the bishops of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church emphasize that vocation is not a profession, but an inner response to Christ’s call to discipleship, and they call for discerning this gift from early childhood: within the family as the “domestic Church,” in the parish community, and in personal prayer. The Synod stresses the special responsibility of parents, pastors, and monastic communities in supporting young vocations, and calls on all the faithful to pray unceasingly that the Lord of the harvest may send new workers into His field.
МОЛІМОСЯ ЗА ПОКЛИКАННЯ ДО СВЯЩЕНСТВА ТА МОНАШОГО ЖИТТЯ
Під час Синоду Єпископів Української Греко-Католицької Церкви 2026 року особливу увагу було приділено темі покликань до священства та монашого життя. У посинодальному пастирському посланні до вірних Патріарх Святослав і єпископи Української Греко-Католицької Церкви наголошують, що покликання - це не професія, а внутрішній відгук на заклик Христа до учнівства, і закликають розпізнавати цей дар із раннього дитинства: у родині як «домашній Церкві», у парафіяльній спільноті та в особистій молитві. Синод підкреслює особливу відповідальність батьків, священиків та чернечих спільнот у підтримці молодих покликань і закликає всіх вірних неперестанно молитися, щоб Господар жнив послав нових працівників на Свої жнива.
A PRAYER COMPOSED BY THE SREVANT OF GOD METROPOLITAN ANDREI for Good Ukrainian Priests
O Lord my Lord, look down from heaven and see, have regard for this vine, the stock that Your right hand planted! May Your almighty hand always be over this people whom You have loved! O Eternal God, grant this people in every generation, until the end of the world, holy bishops and priests, full of Your Spirit, - shepherds and teachers of Your Law, who would know how to preserve without change the truth of Your holy Revelation and lovingly teach and guide this great people. Grant the Ukrainian clergy the grace never to be afraid of sacrifice wherever it concerns Your glory and the good of this people. Renew in the hearts of Ukrainian priests the spirit of zeal for the salvation of souls. Open before their eyes the wisdom of Your Revelation and provide them with a high sense of the holiness of that work to which You have called them. Bless their work and their intentions. Protect them from all harm. And unite them with Your grace, that they may be one in love, as You, O Father, are with the Son, and the Son is with You. Amen.
МОЛИТВА СЛУГИ БОЖОГО МИТРОПОЛИТА АНДРЕЯ про добрих українських священників
Господи, Господи, поглянь з неба, подивись і відвідай виноградник, який насадила правиця Твоя. Нехай всемогутня Твоя рука буде завжди над цим народом, що його Ти полюбив. Дай йому, Предвічний Боже, у кожному поколінні, аж до кінця світу, єпископів і священників святих, повних Твого Духа, - пастирів й учителів Твого Закону, що вміли б незмінно зберігати правду Твого святого Об’явлення та з любов’ю навчати й вести цей великий нарід. Даруй українському духовенству ласку ніколи не боятися пожертвування, де тільки йде про Твою славу й добро цього народу. Розпали в серцях українських священників духа ревности про спасіння душ. Відкрий перед їхніми очима премудрість Твого Об’явлення, і дай їм високе почуття святости того діла, до якого Ти їх покликав. Благослови їхню працю і їхні наміри. Хорони від усякого лиха. І єднай їх Твоєю благодаттю, щоб любов’ю були одно, - як Ти, Отче, зі Сином і Син з Тобою. Амінь.
