Moving forward in life, we experience steps ahead as well as steps back, this applies to church plant as well.

In the past year we've been encouraged in many ways, but we've been taught valuable lessons as well. We can receive these lessons in a negative way and see them as discouragement, but often, in hindsight we may understand the need for and value of these lessons, so we can use them to adjust our course of action. It can be painful or frustrating at the moment but helpful and necessary nonetheless.

This gives reason for thanksgiving for the lessons learned, leading us to seek God's wisdom for moving forward.

Last week however, I had a very encouraging phone call. A current member of the FRCNA contacted me and expressed his family's plans to possibly move to New Brunswick. We discussed options about housing and work, as well as the current situation with church planting.

We had a great conversation and were both encouraged. I am looking forward to their decision and silently hope for an addition here. But when we pray, let's bring this family (name known by the Lord) before God's throne. That He may grant wisdom, that eventually His will be done!

But still: Praise God for this encouraging phone call.

Luke 14:23 "And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled."

A few weeks ago I requested a name change for this page in order to avoid confusion regarding our status as a congregation or a mission station.

We are a mission station and hope to eventually be able to have a congregation here.

Since it has been a few weeks since my request, I was wondering if I did something wrong.

In the meanwhile, this is a great opportunity to inform you about the FRC radio ministry: Have a look at the website and maybe download a few sermons for when you're on the road or any other occasion.

We are grateful for the opportunity we had yesterday to have two worship services, led by Rev. Overduin from Calgary.

In the morning we listened to a sermon with the theme "AND...... Amazing, Noteworthy, Delightful" based on Rev 22

During the afternoon, the sermon was about our Lord before Pontius Pilate, with the text from John 18:28 - 19:16

Praise be to God for the blessings He bestows upon us during these moments.

We look forward to April 13.

Dear all,

It has been a while since I posted something on FB. Of course I can blame it on busy life, but..... though that may be true, it's more like: FaceBook hasn't been a daily part of life for me to begin with :)

Now: What has happened in the past two months? November was the last time we had a visiting pastor. The absence of a pastor results in less attendance. Most people favour visiting a service with a person in the pulpit versus a video recording. But, with all the vacancies in the FRC at the moment, we understand that our pastors are already very busy as it is.

Over the months we have been in contact with surrounding groups as well in an attempt to work together, however it is a fact several people are hesitant to leave the churches they've been part of for years in order to start something new.

The preaching is overall well received, but we see that the New Brunswickers are more used to a less formal worship structure.

As you can read, we face several challenges. Still, we believe that what happens in NB is not because of us, but that ultimately it is The Lord who builds His church. We are only tools in the process, which is a privilege that comes with responsibilities.

D.V. April 6 and 13 we hope to welcome Pastor Hans Overduin in our midst and it is our prayer that he may be used greatly here in NB.

In conclusion, we ask you all to keep the efforts here in your prayers. Also, if you know anyone considering relocating to The Maritimes or already living here but searching for a fitting Reformed church, please lead them to this page and have them contact us if they need more information.
