Have you ever noticed how much the Bible has to say about the weather? After writing yesterday’s post about spring I realise that there was so many Bible verses about the seasons. Some I hadn’t really noticed before.

Rain, sunshine, summer, winter, harvest and changing seasons are woven throughout Scripture.

The Bible tells us that God “made both summer and winter” (Psalm 74:17), and that He sends the “autumn and spring rains in season” (Jeremiah 5:24).

Even something as ordinary as rain falling from the sky can remind us of God’s provision and faithfulness.

And I love this promise in Genesis:

“As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.”
— Genesis 8:22

What a wonderful reminder that the seasons change, but God remains faithful.

Winter gives way to spring. Spring gives way to summer. The rain comes, the sun shines, and the earth continues its rhythm — just as God intended.

And perhaps the changing seasons remind us of something else: whatever season we are experiencing in life, it too will change.

There is a time for everything, and through every season, God is with us. 🌱🌸🌧️☀️

Although I didn’t manage to take a ton of photos during Starry Night Studio & Gallery Tour, I did grab a pic of this lovely lady. What a perfect outfit for the occasion! Downtown Orillia BIA

In Luke 19, Jesus meets Zacchaeus, a wealthy tax collector. He was viewed as a sinner, an outcast and someone to be avoided. Yet Jesus did something that shocked those around Him — He chose to stay at Zacchaeus’ home.

Why?

Because Jesus didn’t come to seek out the people who already had it all together. He came for the lost, the lonely, the rejected and the spiritually broken.

Jesus saw beyond Zacchaeus’ reputation. He saw a person who needed grace, love and a way back.

How often do we look at people through the lens of their past, their mistakes or what others say about them? Jesus reminds us to look a little deeper.

His mission was to seek and save the lost and to gather them into His family.

“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” — Luke 19:10 (NIV)

Perhaps today we need to ask ourselves: Who might I be overlooking that Jesus would gladly sit beside?
