Dear Friends,

As most of you know, the Lighthouse is a ministry of the Uptown Church. It has been for nearly twenty years. There was quite the buzz recently because many Lighthouse volunteers worked very hard to make it financially sustainable as its own independent not-for-profit ministry. Unfortunately, we did not find other local churches to come alongside us as sustainable pillars of financial and ministerial support. So at this time, the Lighthouse is not in a position to be its own parachurch ministry.

The great news is that the Lighthouse will continue to be a ministry of the Uptown Church, and we look forward to growing the Lighthouse into a sustainable ministry for the glory of God as He leads. We will continue to serve, love, and disciple the vibrant community that has grown here over the past two decades. We are committed to nourishing the body and soul through food and Scripture. A short devotional over a warm meal and fellowship is a wonderful way to water the Word implanted in our hearts. God is good, and He is faithful.

We also wanted to take this opportunity to inform you of a couple other important changes:
- The Lighthouse page has now been updated to the Uptown Church; and
- The Lighthouse will be relocating to the Uptown Church this April. Our current lease at the Lighthouse is due to expire April 30, 2026. By relocating to our church, we will save funds and streamline daily operations. Stay tuned for more updates!

We are truly thankful to all who have supported and continue to support this ministry.

A special thank you to Krista Taylor, who was a beloved employee of the Uptown Church. Recently, the church has accepted Krista's resignation, and we are sad to see her go. Her motherly affection has proven instrumental in fostering fellowship and a family environment in the Lighthouse. She has done a wonderful work for the Lord! We trust that God will use her talents for His Kingdom anywhere she goes and bless her future endeavours.

Lighthouse Community Kitchen Christmas Banquet 2025 🎄✨

Tonight was truly special as we served about 50 clients, alongside our amazing volunteers, at our Christmas banquet. Hearts were full, smiles were everywhere, and the spirit of the season was shining bright.
We are incredibly grateful to Mayor Lisa Post and the team from Sylvia Jones’ office for stepping in to help us out — absolutely FABULOUS support! Thank you for serving our community with such kindness and generosity.
This is what Christmas is all about: coming together, lifting one another up, and sharing love. 💛
