Feast of St. Matthew – September 19–20, 2026
This past weekend, September 19–20, Fr. Peter Nguyen, Fr. Tomy Chittinapilly, and the parishioners of St. Matthew Parish came together to celebrate the Feast of St. Matthew, our parish’s patron saint.
Following the noon Mass, the celebration continued as hundreds of parishioners spilled out into the narthex and parking lot for "The Taste of St. Matthew". The gathering became a true feast for the senses, with BBQ and dishes representing more than 29 countries on display—a vivid reflection of our parish’s rich multicultural fabric. Parishioners became friends over shared plates, laughter rang out across the parking lot, and the diversity of cultures found common ground in food, faith, and fellowship.
It was, without question, a beautiful celebration—and a historic one for our parish, as this was the first time our parish family had gathered together to celebrate the Feast of St. Matthew in this way.
It was a celebration that surely brought a smile to St. Matthew himself, looking down on a parish united under his patronage, gathered together to eat, laugh, share our cultures, and simply enjoy one another’s company.
The good time was truly had by all!
