Greetings from Ottawa! St. Paul’s Oakville Sub-Hub youth are at “Worshiplude”, a UCCan conference with other youth groups across Ontario, including London Sub-Hub youth group! It’s been a chance to meet young people from The Hub and UCCan groups all over the province! Wish them well as they stay warm in our nation’s capital.

Reconciliation is an act of love, and ceremony is how that love takes form. On September 20, we gather in a circle of remembrance where words give way to songs, silence, and prayer. It is in ceremony that we remember the children, honour their spirits, and ask for guidance on how to carry their memory forward with respect.

When we sit together in ceremony, we do not stand apart by background, culture, or history. We stand as human beings—each with the responsibility to love, to listen, and to walk gently on this earth. Reconciliation becomes more than a concept; it becomes a lived action when we step into that circle with humility.

The children who never returned home deserve nothing less than our full hearts. Their memory calls us to gather not in anger or division, but in remembrance and love. It calls us to raise our hands to the Survivors who remain, and to commit ourselves to building communities where every child is cherished.

Sit with us. Bring your heart, your prayers, and your willingness to remember. Together, in ceremony, we can create a future worthy of the children.
