AFC in Canada

AFC in Canada Ambassadors For Christ (AFC) exists to continue God's work in the worldwide evangelical student movement. What is Ambassadors For Christ in Canada (AFC)?
(1)

In partnership with local churches, we endeavour alongside students to be grounded in scripture and be faithful followers of Jesus Christ. ADVANCE the gospel in campuses across Eastern Canada, with effort focusing towards new immigrant youth and international students. FURNISH and equip Christian students to become missional and kingdom-oriented disciples, and foster missionary values among those

who plan to return to their homelands. CATALYZE Christians, churches, and like-minded organizations to partner together to propagate the student Christian movement.

Why courage?

Because courage strengthens us; to care deeply about the state of God's world instead of staying apathetic, and to stand up for what's right instead of just staying silent.

There's space for you here, a seat at the table. We value your presence and your perspective. This is where students from across the province come together to worship, cast vision, and build friendships, bound by a shared longing for more of God.

Come as you are.

Thankful for Lausanne Movement Canada and Centre for Redemptive Entrepreneurship for gathering Christian leaders across different sectors to connect around conversations about whole-life discipleship and mentoring the emerging generation to live out their faith Monday through Sunday. It was refreshing to be reminded that we are not alone, that there are so many people trying to live out their faith in their workplaces and communities every day, and wanting to connect with others doing the same.

As we continue to build these networks, our hope for our students is that beyond their student years, they will be connected with others in their workplaces and communities and be encouraged to walk in courageous faith together.

Recently, our very own Joshua had the opportunity to share words of encouragement with our friends at Christ Emmanuel Community Church. We're so thankful for the body of Christ, and the many friends we have the privilege of living out faith courageously alongside!

Our vision is rooted in a deep hope for this generation: that we would live not only for ourselves, but for the flourishing of all creation. 🌎

We believe courageous faith calls us beyond comfort and self-interest to join Christ in His mission of restoration: restoring people, relationships, and all creation to God’s intended design.

With Christ as our strength and the Gospel as our motivation, we 🙏 that the next generation will fully embrace their identity in Jesus, live with courageous faith, and participate together in God’s mission for the flourishing of all.

Stay tuned, as we unpack 'why courageous faith' over the coming weeks.

AFC's vision is to cultivate courageous communities for the flourishing of all.

That's why we've partnered with A Rocha Canada for a two-week mission learning trip (June 8-19), to learn how we, as those who seek to fully follow Jesus, can better care for the world that God created 🌳.

🤷‍♂️ Why should we care for the 🌎?
✝️ Creation is a reflection of God's character and beauty. Caring for the earth highlights our belief that all things are made by, through, and for Jesus.
📖 The Gospel speaks to both spiritual and earthly brokenness — personal salvation and the renewal of all things.
❤️ Caring for the earth is a tangible action that we can take to 'love our neighbours' as ourselves, especially since environmental degradation disproportionately impacts the most vulnerable.
🌻 God calls us to be good caretakers of the earth, because the earth is His and all that is in it!

So join us in 🙏 that our time in Vancouver would be transformative, as our team learns how to be better stewards of creation. Pray that they will be inspired and challenged, growing in their love for Jesus and his world.

None of us were meant to do this life alone. Each of us is part of a bigger story - not just about the individual, but about courageous communities coming together to join in God’s redemptive mission. In the words of an African proverb, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." So join us, as we live out God's call to nurture students toward a courageous faith in Jesus, that motivates them to live beyond themselves!

Our Executive Director (Darren Lung) and Field Ministries Director (Letty Wong) had the opportunity to share about the legacy of impact made through our annual Teens Conference at the Converge Canada Consortium (Converge Canada).

Gathering with ministry leaders from across the country, our partnership with Converge Canada represents our commitment to work alongside those who share the same heartbeat: to live out our faith courageously as we take part in God's mission to renew and restore all things. We're excited to see the fruit that will continue to grow from these deepening friendships and ministry collaborations!

Pray for 🇯🇵.

Each year, we partner with OMF Canada and OMF Japan to send a group of students on a two-week prayer journey.

This prayer journey is about humbly learning and receiving from our Japanese brothers and sisters. We know we can't change the world in two weeks, but we can expand our vision and our understanding of our place in the global church -- not as saviours, but as active participants in God's mission to renew and restore all things.

🙏 for our team, as they are preparing to leave in July. Pray that they will be deeply formed in their hearts, and that they will have the ability to thoughtfully engage with the complexities of intercultural learning and ministry.

Shout-out to these student leaders, who serve as the Chairs and Vice-Chairs of the collective AFC post-secondary student fellowships! 🙌

✝️ Together, we're inviting students to follow Jesus, living out our faith for the flourishing of all.
🏃‍♀️ Together, we're calling students to step forward in courageous faith, engaging actively with the people, places, and issues on campus. 🏃‍♂️
🔥 Together, we're charting a path toward greater unity across all our campus fellowships, so that we can be unified in heart and spirit.

Join us in praying for these courageous leaders as they lead their student fellowships to faithfully follow Jesus.
