Dear friends and members of our community,

This is another reminder and a few house-keeping notes for the peaceful protest that we are attending tomorrow.

Quick facts:
When: Saturday July 25, 4-6pm
Where: Vancouver Art Gallery 750 Hornby St, Vancouver, BC V6Z 2H7
What to bring: Surgical masks, Azerbaijani / Turkish / Canadian flags or any other flags that represent countries standing with Azerbaijan
Possible poster slogans: “Karabakh is Azerbaijan”, “Justice for Karabakh”, “Justice for Azerbaijan”, “Stop Armenian Aggression”, “Stop Armenian Vandalism”, “Stop Armenian Terrorism”.

Now, for the house keeping items.
Please respect all the health and safety regulations recommended by the province of British Columbia. This includes social distancing and wearing masks in gatherings of such.
There have been concerns regarding the safety due to the incidents that happened in LA. Vancouver Police Department has been contacted, and they have assured us that there are no other protests organized by Armenians on that day. They will provide a few officers just like for any protest, and if anything does happen, they can deploy more units to the protest area within 3 minutes. We just need to call 911 right away.
On a similar note, it is vital with the utmost importance that we maintain our integrity and remain calm at all times. Even if there were any Armenian aggressor(s) trying to provoke us. We need to remember that they want this, they want to provoke us, they want us to react so they can paint us as the violent bunch in the international media. So, please, please, do not be provoked under any circumstances. We will just say our bits in peace, raise our flags and show our solidarity to our nation and army!

Dear friends and members of our community,

On Saturday July 25, 2020 between 4pm and 6pm we will be having a peaceful protest in front of Vancouver Art Gallery to raise awareness about Armenia violating the international ceasefire and attacking Tovuz region of Azerbaijan. The incident happened on July 12, 2020 and resulted in 13 casualties on Azerbaijani side including an army general and a civilian.

For those of you who don’t know, 20% of Azerbaijani lands, , is still under occupation by Armenia. Please join us if you can and let others hear this injustice! Strength is in numbers. Now is the time where we stand together!

If you would like to prepare any banners or posters, these are some slogans that you can use:
“Karabakh is Azerbaijan”, “Justice for Karabakh”, “Justice for Azerbaijan”, “Stop Armenian Aggression”, “Stop Armenian Vandalism”, “Stop Armenian Terrorism”.

If you have, please bring Azerbaijani, Canadian, Turkish flags.

Due to COVID-19 and provincial health regulations, we will wear masks and keep social distancing between different groups (2 meter / 6 feet apart). Please make sure we obey all the safety regulations and keep in mind that this is peaceful protest. We will be supplying masks if you don’t have one.

Azerbaijani Cultural Center will organize Novruz Party for you and members of your family on March 21, 2015 from 6.00pm to 12.30am.

As usual, the event will be full of Azerbaijani music, dances, and entertainment.

In order to participate, you will need to purchase tickets. The price for ticket is $25 per person, which also includes food, soft drink and beverages. It is free for children under 5 years.

The space is limited! Tickets are first come, first served! Please purchase your tickets prior to March 15th, 2015. Please make sure to get your tickets in advance as there will be no ticket sale at the door.

The money collected from the ticket sales will go towards the cost of food, maintenance, and also our core activities to promote Azerbaijani culture in Vancouver! Thank you!
