Happy Pride! 🏳️‍🌈

June is Pride Month (the start of a season of Pride celebrations around Canada that extend into early fall). Pride is a time to celebrate and honour the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. In 2025, The United Church of Canada offered an apology to 2S and LGBTQIA+ people and communities—naming the real harm caused through words, actions, silence, and systems that failed to protect and affirm God’s beloved people. Watch Moderator Kimberly Heath's reflection on that apology—not as an ending, but as a beginning: https://united-church.ca/news/moderators-pride-message-2026

The teddies are coming!
On Sat, June 20, join us from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm for our 19th Annual Teddy Bear Picnic. This annual event is beloved by neighbours, kiddos, and stuffies alike as a celebration of community.

This year, we have Dilly and Donna from Click & Clown, Marnie from Music with Marnie, face-painters, crafts, cookie decorating, a teddy bear clinic, hot dogs and cold drinks, and of course our Adopt-a-Teddy table.

If you're able to help out with this event (set up, take down, staffing the snacks or other zones) please visit https://tinyurl.com/4cv5epyr.

June is National Indigenous History Month. Let's take this month as an opportunity to learn about the unique cultures, traditions and experiences of First Nations, Inuit and Métis; recognize the ongoing impacts of colonization; and reflect on how we can contribute to reconciliation.

One very good way to learn this month: read, watch and listen to Indigenous stories told by Indigenous folk. Check out the library for recommendations!
