Today, we find ourselves in between.

Holy Saturday is the quiet space between loss and hope.
A day when the story feels unfinished.
A day for waiting.

In the stillness of this day, we are invited to pause…
to sit with the mystery…
to make space for grief, for questions, and for wonder.

At St. Catherine’s, our chapel will be open from 10am–4pm for contemplation.
A simple, quiet place to come and be—just as you are.

And then, tomorrow, we celebrate.

Easter is the heart of the Christian story.
It is the proclamation that love is stronger than death.

In the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, we glimpse the depth of God’s desire to be in relationship with us—a love that opens a new way forward, a new kind of belonging, a new beginning.

And still… it is also mystery.

You don’t have to have it all figured out.
You are allowed to wonder.
To ask what this might mean for your life.
To simply show up and see what unfolds.

Holy Saturday — April 4 | 10am–4pm
Chapel open for quiet contemplation

Easter Sunday — April 5 | 10am
A joyful celebration of the resurrection of Jesus, as we gather and remember that we are God’s beloved.

Wherever you find yourself this weekend—certain or unsure, grieving or hopeful—you are welcome here.

Today, we remember the day Jesus was crucified.

Good Friday holds one of the most difficult and sacred moments in the Christian story. It is a day where we pause and face the reality of suffering, injustice, and loss—and where we witness the depth of God’s love made visible in Jesus.

This is not a story of easy answers.
It is a story that invites us to be present.

We remember that Jesus entered fully into human pain—not turning away from it, but meeting it with love that does not let go.

Today’s service at St. Catherine’s will be a quiet time of prayer and reflection on the covenantal love of God, offered to us through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.

We will enter and leave in silence.

If you are carrying grief, questions, or simply a longing for stillness, this space is for you.

You are welcome here.

Tonight we remember a quiet, tender moment near the end of Jesus’ life.

On Maundy Thursday, we gather around the table—just as Jesus did with his friends on the night before he died. It is a night of intimacy and vulnerability, where bread is broken, feet are washed, and love is made visible in simple, human ways.

The word “Maundy” comes from the Latin mandatum, meaning commandment.
It points to the words Jesus shares that night:

“Love one another, as I have loved you.”

This is not a distant or abstract love.
It is a love that kneels.
A love that serves.
A love that stays, even when things are uncertain.

Tonight at St. Catherine’s, we’ll share a simple supper and gather at tables for Eucharist—remembering Jesus’ presence among us. There will be the option of foot washing, for those who wish to participate, and we will end in quiet as the altar is stripped bare.

It is a gentle, powerful way of entering the story of Holy Week.

You don’t need to know what to do or say—the community will carry you.

Come as you are, and join us at the table.

Lent is leading us somewhere.

In a few weeks, Christians around the world will enter Holy Week — the week when we remember the final days of Jesus’ life.

It is a week that holds the heart of our faith:

A humble Jesus welcomed with palm branches.
A last supper shared with friends.
The grief and love revealed at the cross.
And the mystery of resurrection.

At St. Catherine’s, we will walk through this story together.

In the days ahead, we’ll share more about the services that will guide us through Holy Week. For now we encourage you to save these dates!

Palm Sunday: March 29 ~ 10am
Maundy Thursday: April 2 ~ 6pm (Simple supper and service)
Good Friday: April 3 ~ 12pm
Holy Saturday: April 4 ~ 10am-4pm (Chapel open for contemplation)
Easter Sunday: April 5 ~ 10am

Another traditional Lenten practice is almsgiving — generosity toward others.

Throughout the Gospels, Jesus reminds us that love of God and love of neighbour belong together.

During Lent, many Christians choose to give more intentionally — sharing their time, resources, and care with others.

It’s one small way we practice the love Jesus calls us to live. Where might Jesus be inviting you to put love into action this Lent?

One of the traditional practices of Lent is prayer.

Throughout the Gospels, we see Jesus stepping away to pray — taking time to reconnect with God.

During Lent, we follow his example by making small spaces in our lives to pause, reflect, and draw close to God.

Prayer doesn’t need to be complicated. Even a few quiet moments can become a place where we meet Jesus.

You may have heard the word Lent and wondered what it means.

Lent is a 40-day season in the Church when we prepare for Easter by slowing down and walking more intentionally with Jesus. In the Anglican tradition, Lent often includes prayer, generosity, and fasting — not as spiritual pressure, but as ways of making space for love to grow.

Lent reminds us that faith isn’t about perfection. It’s about relationship.

And wherever you are on your journey, you are welcome here.
