Last night at the Sidney Street Market we asked market-goers one simple question:

"What's a business you love?"

The response was incredible.

More than 30 local businesses were added to our shout-out board by community members of all ages. One of our biggest surprises was seeing how many young people stopped by to share their favourites.

It was a great reminder of the pride people have in supporting local business across the Saanich Peninsula.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, and to Kaemac Event Services and to the many volunteers who make the Sidney Street Market such a success each week.

This week we're sharing highlights from the Chambers of Commerce Executives of BC (CCEBC) Conference, where Executive Director Jacquie Beland represented the Saanich Peninsula Chamber and connected with Chamber and Board of Trade professionals across the province.

Through CCEBC ideas, experiences, and best practices are shared to help strengthen Chamber programs, events, and advocacy efforts that support local businesses.

The Sidney Lions Club Community Dinner takes place this Friday, June 5 at 5:00 PM at Sidney Elementary School—and everyone is welcome!

This beloved Spring Fling tradition brings together families, students and community members for an evening of great food and connection. Enjoy classic favourites like burgers, hot dogs, fries, onions rings, and drinks served with a smile.

More than just a community meal, the Spring Fling helps support Sidney Elementary School with classroom supplies, enrichment opportunities, field trips, and meaningful student experiences.

The United Professionals Charity Classic takes place tomorrow—Saturday, May 30 from 2:00 - 7:00 PM at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria.

Presented in partnership with SPCC member, Scotiabank,and the Victoria Royals Hockey Club, this inaugural event brings together professionals from across the region in support of End2endcancer and the Island Kids Cancer Association.

Spectators are welcome for a minimum donation of $5—all proceeds support local cancer care and family support initiatives.
