Asallam Ailekum Brothers and Sisters

I hope that everyone is having a good summer so far. The weather has been excellent for travel and since schools have closed and pandemic restrictions are easing we will be able to visit and enjoy the company of our friends and family. Especially elderly relations that we have kept a distance from for over a year.

Before the pandemic our mosque on McPhail street was our hub for prayers and social prayers and dinners. Unfortunately we had to abide with provincial regulations and restrict access. Our brothers and Sisters have been very loyal and supportive to abide by the rules. Especially when the mosque is so pivotal in our lives and way of living.

Finally now that we are in stage 3, we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and we hope that our normal functions will resume in due course. It is still early as we entered step 3 only this week. We should wait another 2-3 weeks to see how the churches and mosques in Ontario fair out with the easing. It only makes good common sense to do this.

We are thinking that there will be NO Eid Prayers this Tuesday at the masjid. Eid al Adha is a big day in our calendar, however it has come too soon in the order of the lessening of restrictions.

On the positive we are feeling very positive of resuming Jumah prayers very soon barring some restrictions. Our brothers and Sisters are discussing this and we can announce the Jumah prayer protocol in the next 2-3 weeks.

Please stay tuned and thank you for your continued patience in these difficult times. As muslims we have conducted ourselves very well in preventing the spread of the virus in our community of North Bay.

To repeat Brothers and Sisters, there will not be any communal Eid prayers at the masjid this Tuesday but we are hoping that our normal functions will start to happen soon and please stay tuned for our Jumah prayer protocol.

Eid Mubarak everyone.

Thank you for your continued cooperation.
