Bill C-218, The Right to Recover Act, seeks to amend the Criminal Code to prevent Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) from being provided when mental illness is the sole underlying condition.

Without this amendment, MAiD for mental illness alone will become available in March 2027.

The Archdiocese of Toronto has launched a campaign to raise awareness and encourage Canadians to speak up in support of compassionate care and real mental health supports. We invite all CWL members to join this important effort.

Happy Family Day! 💙

Today we celebrate the gift of family—the ones we were born into, the ones we’ve built, and the one we share in the League. From one end of Canada to the other, our CWL sisterhood wraps us in prayer, support, laughter, and love.

May this day remind us that no matter where we live or serve, we are held together by faith, friendship, and a bond that feels like home.

Come and celebrate the World Day of Prayer on Friday, March 6 at Trinity United Church. Doors open at 1:30 PM, Celebration at 2:00 PM, followed by a reception.
This is an international ecumenical Christian initiative celebrated annually in over 170 countries, focusing on prayer and action. The theme this year will center on Nigeria, offering insights into finding rest in God during challenging times.
