🌿🌿🌿Glory be to Jesus Christ!🌿🌿🌿On Saturday, August 22. 2026 abouth 35 people gathered to attend the official closing of The Ukrainian Catholic Parish of the Presentation of The Blessed Virgin Mary -Velychko,SK. The afternoon commenced with baptism and confirmation of two young girls. Shortly afterwards , a Panakhyda service was celebrated with Fr. Ivan Nahachewsky and Fr. Leonid Malkov in front of bell tower. Prayers were offered in remembrance of all those who have been part of this beloved parish which was established in 1911. Following Panakhyda, Fr. Ivan blessed gravesites on the cemetery. Darlene Lozowchuk spoke on behalf of the parishioners recounting the history of the establishment of the church and sharing many fond memories. It was hartwarming to see Annie Betskal, who is 103 and the oldest member of parish, in attendance. Through anwavering faith and hard work, this parish has endured for 115 years and may the memories live on as a testament of strenght of their faith in God.

The Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church - Velychko will officially be closed on Saturday, August 22, 2026. You are invited to attend the final Panakhyda service at the church at 1:30 p.m. on that day. The church is located south of Hafford and directions can be found on Google Maps by entering “Presentation of of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church and Cemetery, Redberry Park, Sk.

The Divine Liturgy will be held at the Borden Community Centre at 303 1st Ave., Borden, Sk. with a lunch to follow at the Community Centre. Cemetery blessing will follow lunch.🌿

The church of Ss. Peter and Paul in Tway sits in a quiet corner lot surrounded by old spruce trees. Over a hundred people gathered with their bishop at this well-loved place to celebrate their feast day, pray at their cemeteries, and feast in their hall.

The food was top notch - but who would expect anything else from one of our lovely rural parishes.

🌿There will not be a Praznyk Service at Krydor this Sunday, July 19th. There will be a Divine Liturgy in Hafford at 1 p.m. instead.
