Nobleton & Schomberg United Churches
This Sunday June 7 at 9:30 am, at Schomberg United, we are having a joint service, led by Rev. Andrew Lee, Chaplain of HMCS York, and former King City United Church minister. Light refreshments afterwards.
The Schomberg United Church Women meet on Thurs. June 11, at 1 pm at St. Mary Magdalene Church. Everyone is welcome to attend. The theme of hearing and discussing stories of Women in the Bible continues.
The next Schomberg Senior's Luncheon is Tues., July 14 at 11:15 am at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Schomberg. The entertainment for July is Naomi Bristow, the Singin’ Cowgirl. Naomi is a professional music artist who hails from a farm near Beeton, Ontario. She has been in the music business for 16 years and has recorded 11 albums. Her country, western, and gospel songs have been performed across North America at fall fairs, jamborees, churches and country festivals. The meal is a hamburger, macaroni salad, cole slaw, & tea or coffee with ice cream bars for dessert. Please RSVP with Sheila Kelly (905-939-2315 or 905-751-5190) if you plan to attend as space is limited. Although the meal is free, donations are appreciated to defray costs.
Our next and last Messy Church at Nobleton United is Mon. June 15 at 5 pm. The activities and crafts (5-6 PM) are based on each month’s theme. The theme for June is “Elijah and the Widow” (God provides what we need). At 6 pm, we have story time until 6:15 pm when we eat. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. One activity is always decorating a cookie in the theme of the day. Please let Nancy Hopkinson know (text 416-316-5064 or email [email protected]) if you would like to attend, as we need to have enough food for everyone.
The very last service to be held in Nobleton United’s building is Sunday June 21 (Father’s Day) at 11:15 am. This will be a special service of remembrance. There will be a lunch afterwards. We would like to know numbers for the lunch, so we have provided a link to RSVP https://forms.cloud.microsoft/r/NstEi6bkU5 .
Last Sunday, we had a fabulous baptism service with 5 of Gino & Sue DiFebo’s grandchildren being baptized at Nobleton United Church. Rev. Evelyn McLachlan led the joyous service. We sang action songs and enjoyed a sumptuous lunch afterwards.
On Wednesday mornings, we have a Zoom Coffee chat (10 am – 11 am). We talk on a huge variety of topics, mainly current events. You are welcome to join us. Just send me a message [email protected] to request the link.
