Our next Schomberg Senior's Luncheon is Tues., Mar. 10th at 11:15 am at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Schomberg. The entertainer is Beeton’s Nancy Chapple-Smokler, with a St. Patrick’s Day-themed Concert. Nancy grew up in B.C. and when she was 10 years old, she was on the first episode of the Beachcombers (1971). The meal will be leek & potato soup with corned beef on rye sandwiches with dessert of vanilla cupcakes with green icing and ice cream. The Schomberg United Church Women will meet Thurs. Mar. 12th at 1 pm at St. Mary Magdalene Church. Everyone is welcome to attend. The theme of hearing and discussing stories of Women in the Bible continues. There will be an Irish touch as well.
On Sun. Mar. 15th, there is no service at our local churches. We are all invited to Pie (Public, Intentional, Explicit) Day at Knox United Church in Caledon at 10 am. This is an Affirm Service and there will be a joint choir. There will likely be pies afterwards!
Our next Messy Church is Mon. Mar. 23rd (changed) at 5 pm at Nobleton United. The activities and crafts (5-6 PM) are based on different Bible stories. The theme for March is the Prodigal Son. God always welcomes us home. At 6 pm, we have story time until 6:15 pm when we eat. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. One activity is always decorating a cookie in the theme of the day. Please let Nancy Hopkinson know (text 416-316-5064 or email [email protected]) if you would like to attend, as we need to have enough food for everyone.
On Wednesday mornings, we have a Zoom Coffee chat (10 am – 11 am). We talk on a huge variety of topics, mainly current events. You are welcome to join us. Just send me a message [email protected] to request the link.
