When was the last time you carried something for someone other than yourself?

Most of us are exhausted from hauling loads we were never meant to carry. Worry, image, control, self-preservation. And at the same time the world keeps telling us the goal is to lighten up, owe nothing, protect yourself.
But an empty back isn't freedom. It's smallness. This Sunday we start Burdened, a three-week series about putting down the wrong weight and picking up the right one. This one is worth showing up for.

Culture says love is about what makes you feel good. Jesus says it's about what you're willing to give up. Which one are you actually living out?

True love is a disruptor.

In the chapters leading to the cross, love keeps breaking the old order.

Lazarus. What do you believe is possible?
Mary. What are you willing to surrender?
The seed. It looks like an ending. It's the only way anything new begins.

Culture lifts itself up at the expense of others. Jesus was lifted up for the sake of others.

Taking up your cross doesn't mean making yourself smaller. It means killing off whatever's keeping you from becoming who you actually are. Let that habit or lie you believe die so the real you can live.
