Hi everyone. Here is a special prayercast for peace for Ukraine.
Prayers:
St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
Psalm 23
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures;
he leads me beside still waters;
3 he restores my soul.
He leads me in right paths
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley,
I fear no evil;
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff—
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely[e] goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD
my whole life long.
O God our Shepherd, Lover of justice, lover of peace
We lift our prayers to you this day for the people of Ukraine and the people of Russia, innocent people whose lives are now in turmoil.
Send your holy angels to comfort for all those who are afraid; that your loving presence will sustain them in this time of fear.
We ask that those who seek power and domination over others would now turn from their destructive path, and that they would recognizing the great pain and suffering caused by their actions. Turn hateful hearts to repentance. Open their ears to the cries of those whom they have hurt and those who are grieving. May your love and our prayers diffuse their evil intentions.
Anoint the world with your love this day, O Shepherd of our souls. We give thanks for peace for Ukraine. We give thanks for peace in our hearts and in our homes. We give thanks, Creator of all, that you are working for good in this situation; and that your Divine Love and Grace is stronger than the evil forces playing out. All this we pray in the name of the Prince of Peace, Jesus your son, who taught us to pray with these words.
Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth, As it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
The power, and the glory,
For ever and ever. Amen.
