Archangel Gabriel is the herald of visions and a messenger for God. We added to his workload by having the Angel Gabriel app use your cell phone to light a candle to deliver your message. We believe the lighting of a candle is a spiritual intention, a sense of connection to something bigger than ourselves.
We believed this 42 years ago, when we started with our electronic candles. We believed that there was a better way to bring our spiritual intentions to God.


We decided to do something about the mess that the petroleum-based product made. At the time, it was about being on the fund-raising committee. We needed to repaint the church as the smoke, soot and lead was making a mess of the ceiling. Our beautiful art work and stars were being destroyed. Climbing up a ladder and hanging off scaffolding at two hundred feet up to repaint a ceiling is extremely expensive, not to mention dangerous.

Vendalite went from manufacturing electric candle stands to electronics. The technology was
changing by the nano second ie. The electronic stands went from pushing a button in front of each candle to lighting a candle with a magic wand.

Then came the pandemic and people were becoming more and more isolated - not going out - staying home.

Our company, Vendalite, invented the Gabriel app in cooperation with Niagara College in Ontario.
The GABRIEL APP allows Parishioners to light a candle from the comfort of their home. They see the candle light in real time, and an icon of the candle shows up on their cellphone and stays lit for 5 days. After 5 days the app sends a reminder to light the candle again. The parishioner also receives a thank you note from the Church, Shrine, or Mausoleum in which the candle was lit.
