Ramadan Mubarak!
Assalam alaykum,
Dear Members of the ISNP family,
We welcome the blessed month of Ramadan (Starting Feb 18th) and look forward to our community coming together in prayer, fasting and reflection during this sacred time. We want everyone to maximize the blessings and rewards, so here are some pertinent points to make Ramadan as beautiful as possible at the Islamic Society of Niagara Peninsula:
Taraweeh prayers begin on Tuesday February 17th at 8:00pm Inshallah following Isha prayer. Please see the attached ISNP Ramadan calendar. We strongly suggest that people begin their fast 10 to 15 minutes before the entrance of Fajr. May Allah accept our fast, prayers and dua.
Community potluck iftars: On selective Fridays our community comes together to share food as we break our fasts. Please bring cooked dishes that your family enjoys so that we can celebrate and learn from each other.
Community sponsored iftars: If you would like to donate funds toward a community iftar please send an e-transfer to [email protected] Please include your name and state “community iftar sponsor” in the message field. You may also fill out the following form: click here.
Everyone is welcome to come to all community iftars.
Volunteers to assist with community iftars: If you would like to be an ISNP volunteer during Ramadan please fill out this form. Secondary school students can earn community hours. We pray everyone will earn great rewards.
Fitra: We are collecting and distributing fitra to help community members that are in need. Fitra should be paid for every member of each home including children. This year we are collecting $15 per person. Please send your fitra by e-transfer to [email protected] or by cash at the fitra box at the masjid. Earlier payment makes it easier for volunteer distribution.
Ways to donate at ISNP: Increase your good deeds during this month. The Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم was the most generous of people and he was particularly giving in Ramadan. As you know, the new hospital will be opening soon and we are trying to get our community ready for the influx of converts and new members joining our community. We are in desperate need of expanding our facilities, prayer areas, services and parking. We are hoping to raise $400,000 total or $100,000 per week during Ramadan.
This will allow us to begin expansion plans and be an eternal reward for anyone who gives to serve the community.
We have made donating to ISNP easy! Here is how:

Cash or cheque to a board member.
Credit or debit card via Tap in the ISNP gym (no tax receipt given).
Please keep your family, friends and ISNP in your du’a during this special and sacred time. May Allah accept all your efforts during this month. All praise is Allah’s.
