Rosh Hashanah marks the start of a new year for the Jewish community. The holiday is both a time to celebrate the day God created the world, as well as being a time of prayer and contemplation for many Jews, a time to reflect on the year that was and the year to come. Traditionally, the shofar (ram horn) is blown to mark the occasion.

The Eastern Synod extends warm wishes to the Jewish community as they celebrate the new year - Shana Tova!
