What wonderful recognition of an important community ministry.

Congratulations to Elaine Russell and the many volunteers who make The Shepherd's Lunchroom possible each week, and thank you to the Town of New Glasgow for this generous support.

For nearly 30 years, Trinity United Church has been proud to be the home of Shepherd's Lunchroom. Together, volunteers, community partners, and supporters have created a place of food, friendship, dignity, and welcome for those who need it most.

And while we may be a little biased, we think Elaine is pretty special too. 💙

The Town of New Glasgow is proud to support The Shepherd's Lunchroom with a $500 grant in support of its lunch program.

Through nutritious meals, kindness, and a welcoming environment, Shepherd’s Lunchroom continues to make a meaningful difference for individuals in our community. This important program is made possible by dedicated volunteers who give their time and care to help provide comfort, dignity, connection, and support to those who need it most.

The Town is grateful for the compassion and commitment shown by Elaine Russell, the volunteers, and everyone involved in this important community initiative.

In Loving Memory of Rev. Jim Shaffner

Trinity United Church is saddened to learn of the passing of Rev. Jim Shaffner, who served as a Minister at Trinity from 2010–2014. We give thanks for his faithful ministry, gentle spirit, and dedicated service to our congregation.

Jim's kindness, pastoral care, and quiet faith left a lasting impression on many lives and helped shape our church community.

We extend our condolences to Jim's wife, Carol, their family, the congregation of Merigomish United Church, and all who grieve his passing.

Funeral arrangements will be shared once they have been received.
