St. Andrew's Anglican Church A part of the Anglican Diocese of Quebec, St. Andrew's is a congregation of The Parish of New Carlisle: a three-point parish that also includes St.

Mary Magdalene, New Richmond and St. James, Hope Town. The Rector of St. Andrew's is also responsible for the Parish of Chaleur Bay which includes St. James' Port Daniel, and St. Paul's Shigawake. The two parishes often join together for worship and other activities, as we seek to be a faithful community of Christians within the Anglican tradition on the beautiful Gaspé Peninsula.

Our Bishop Bruce has just returned from a sojourn to Rome.

Over the past two weeks, Bishop Bruce has been in Italy participating in various activities aimed at strengthening the bonds of communion between Anglicans and Roman Catholics.

Some highlights from the trip included a meeting of the Malines Conversations Group, which fosters ecumenical dialogue between Anglicans and Roman Catholics. He preached at St. Paul’s Within the Walls Episcopal Church and at the Anglican Centre in Rome. During his time in Rome, he met with the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Representative to the Holy See, a representative of the Vatican’s Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity, and Canada’s ambassador to the Holy See.

On Wednesday, he attended the general audience with Pope Leo and had the opportunity to briefly speak with the Holy Father about the importance of Anglicans and Catholics growing together in unity and mission in a world that seems more divided than ever.
