In light of what is happening in communities across the Okanagan and Kootney regions of this beautiful province of ours I invite your prayers for all those who are facing fires this day, this week, and beyond.

Current stats show that over 20,000 people have been evacuated with another 9000+ on standby to flee at a moments notice ... nearly the entire population of all Oceanside Communities combined.

My friends, our province is burning, our province is hurting and our prayers, our support, our hearts are needed. And while there is always hope, as people and forests are resillient and will bloom again, right now - we are called to hold onto the hope.

So let us pray...
Creator God, You see the fires burning and the creatures, animals and humans alike, fleeing. You feel their fear and worry, and weep with those who are facing devastating loss of life and livelihood.
We ask that you strength and uphold the firefighters and volunteers working to keep flames at bay and communities safe. Grant clear wisdom to local leaders, emergency coordinators, and all who are guiding the evacuation and organizing response efforts. Be the refuge and strength to all all those who are being forced from their homes, so they may find comfort, a lightening from anxiety and fear knowing You are with them through this storm. We pray for safe shelter, adequate food and water, and compassionate support for everyone displaced.
We place all these worries all these prayers encompassing people and animals, forests and cities in your loving hands O Lord. And in Your time trust You will bring hope, healing, and renewal out of the ashes of this disaster. Amen.

With love, compassion and prayer,
Rev. Kirsten+
