Our church community is comprised of individuals from all walks of life and different personal experiences that led them to The Lord. We spend our time together in reflection and renewal of our spiritual journey with Jesus, and we continue to live our daily lives based on principles of the Bible. We, at The Salvation Army Community Church, extend an open invitation to join us in faith and fellowsh

ip as we experience God through Biblical truth. Our church offers a warm family atmosphere based on the roots of the Christian faith through the Word of God. We are a Bible-based church that strives to help others to experience God and practical changes in their lives by offering multiple opportunities for ministry. Together we practice our faith with a strong focus on evangelism, discipleship, worship, fellowship and service.

Twenty-five years ago, Canadian officers, Army employees and volunteers faithfully served at New York City’s Ground Zero in the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

In the days and weeks following September 11, 2001, Canadians from coast to coast stepped forward to help those affected by the tragedy. From welcoming stranded travellers and opening emergency shelters to providing meals to offering emotional and spiritual care, communities across Canada demonstrated remarkable compassion and service.
To honour those who answered the call, commemorative challenge coins have been created to recognize the dedication of Salvation Army staff, volunteers, and responders who supported relief efforts across Canada and assisted in New York City.

These coins serve as a lasting tribute to their commitment, sacrifice, and the spirit of helping others in times of crisis. We are proud to recognize these individuals and the role Canadians played in the response to 9/11.

There will be free haircuts, backpacks, school supplies, and more for children, families, and tweens!

Thank you to the Nanaimo Lions Club for inviting The Salvation Army in Nanaimo to join you last Saturday Aug 22 to celebrate your 80th Anniversary! It was a beautiful day at Maffeo-Sutton Park meeting the many other community organizations supported over all those years by the Lions, aswell as the general public just checking it all out. Chris and Aaron from The Salvation Army Nanaimo Centre of Hope joined Majors Rick and Jennifer from The Salvation Army Nanaimo Church and Community Ministries. We even had Goma our 4 legged friend there to make lots of new friends!
