There are many things to be aware of in today's political climate, some in our own province, affecting the financial future of our children and grand children, and others nationally, affecting all of Canadian society in real life or death choices.

One of those critical pieces of national legislation that needs your attention is Bill C-218 and its bid to suspend indefinitely or completely stop the option of MAID (medical assistance in [more accurately, for] dying) for those with mental illness. Bill C-218 would exclude a mental disorder from being considered a "grievous and irremediable medical condition" for the purposes of Medical Assistance in Dying. This would mean that no one would be eligible for MAID on the basis of mental illness alone.

Now is the time to address this issue to your local MP, asking them to consider lending their voice and vote to the cause to halt a broader legal use of MAID. Your voice matters and it is important to wield it for the betterment of society. Please take a moment today to call or email your MP.
