🔹Important rappel concernant les corps non réclamés au Québec 🔹
Au Québec, lorsqu’une personne décède et qu’aucun membre de sa famille ou proche n’est retrouvé, son corps n’est pas automatiquement incinéré ou brûlé.
Les autorités et les services policiers entreprennent d’abord des démarches afin d’identifier la personne et de retrouver sa famille ou ses proches. Si, malgré ces efforts, personne n’est retrouvé pour réclamer le corps, celui-ci est conservé pendant une période déterminée conformément aux procédures en vigueur.
*Il est donc important d’éviter la diffusion d’informations inexactes concernant le traitement des corps non réclamés au Québec.*
Nous tenons également à souligner que le Centre Islamique du Québec (ICQ) demeure toujours disponible pour intervenir dans ce type de situation. Le centre déploie tous les efforts nécessaires afin que les musulmans dont les corps ne sont pas réclamés puissent recevoir une sépulture digne et conforme aux rites islamiques. Une fois les enquêtes et procédures officielles complétées, le centre peut prendre en charge les démarches funéraires et, au besoin, assumer les frais liés à l’inhumation. Toute personne confrontée à une situation semblable est invitée à communiquer avec le Centre Islamique du Québec afin que les dispositions nécessaires puissent être prises.
Concernant le cas actuel du frère décédé dont le corps se trouve au CHUM, le Centre Islamique du Québec, en collaboration avec le nouveau cimetière Salam de Vaudreuil, prendra en charge, si Allah le veut, les procédures de récupération du corps ainsi que son inhumation dès que l’enquête policière sera terminée et que le corps sera libéré par les autorités compétentes.
Nous demandons à Allah d’accorder Sa miséricorde à tous les musulmans décédés, de leur pardonner et de leur accorder le Paradis.
🔹 Important Reminder Regarding Unclaimed Bodies in Quebec 🔹
In Quebec, when a person passes away and no family members or relatives can be located, the body is not automatically cremated or burned.
Authorities and police services first make every effort to identify the deceased and locate family members or next of kin. If no one is found despite these efforts, the body is kept for a period of time in accordance with established procedures and applicable regulations.
*It is important to avoid spreading inaccurate information regarding the handling of unclaimed bodies in Quebec.*
We would also like to emphasize that the Islamic Centre of Quebec (ICQ) remains available to assist in such situations. The Centre strives to ensure that deceased Muslims whose bodies remain unclaimed receive a dignified burial in accordance with Islamic rites. Once official investigations and legal procedures have been completed, the Centre may coordinate the burial arrangements and, when necessary, cover the associated burial expenses. Anyone facing a similar situation is encouraged to contact the Islamic Centre of Quebec so that the appropriate arrangements can be made.
With respect to the current case of the deceased brother whose body is presently at CHUM Hospital, the Islamic Centre of Quebec, in collaboration with the new Salam Cemetery in Vaudreuil, will, Allah willing, take responsibility for the body and burial arrangements as soon as the police investigation is completed and the body is released by the competent authorities.
We pray that Allah grants mercy and forgiveness to all deceased Muslims and admits them into Paradise.

في مقاطعة كيبيك، عندما يتوفى شخص ولا يتم العثور على أي فرد من عائلته أو أقاربه، فإن جثمانه لا يُحرق تلقائيًا ولا يتم اللجوء إلى الترميد بشكل مباشر.
تقوم السلطات وأجهزة الشرطة أولًا باتخاذ الإجراءات اللازمة للتعرف على هوية المتوفى والبحث عن أفراد عائلته أو من يحق لهم استلام الجثمان. وإذا لم يتم العثور على أي شخص رغم هذه الجهود، يتم الاحتفاظ بالجثمان لمدة محددة وفقًا للإجراءات المعمول بها.

كما نود أن نؤكد أن المركز الإسلامي في كيبيك (ICQ) يبقى دائمًا على استعداد للتدخل في مثل هذه الحالات، ويبذل كل ما في وسعه لضمان دفن المسلمين الذين لا يوجد من يطالب بجثامينهم. فبعد انتهاء الإجراءات و التحقيقات الرسمية، يعمل المركز على التكفل بترتيبات الدفن الشرعي، ويتحمل التكاليف اللازمة لذلك عند الحاجة. لذا ندعو كل من لديه أي استفسار أو حالة مشابهة إلى التواصل مع المركز الإسلامي في كيبيك، الذي سيقوم بما يلزم لضمان دفن المسلمين بما يحفظ كرامتهم ووفقًا لأحكام الشريعة الإسلامية.
وفيما يتعلق بالحالة الحالية للأخ المتوفى الموجود في مستشفى CHUM، فإن المركز الإسلامي في كيبيك، وبالتعاون مع مقبرة السلام الجديدة في فودروي (Vaudreuil)، سيتولى بإذن الله إجراءات استلام الجثمان ودفنه فور انتهاء تحقيقات الشرطة والإجراءات القانونية اللازمة والإفراج عن الجثمان من قبل الجهات المختصة.
نسأل الله تعالى أن يرحم موتى المسلمين جميعًا، وأن يغفر لهم، وأن يجعل مثواهم الجنة.
