Montreal Filipino SDA Church

Montreal Filipino SDA Church The Montreal Filipino SDA Church is part of a world-wide Church with more than 21 million members in countries around the world.

ABOUT OUR CHURCH:
Seventh-day Adventists accept the Bible as the only source of our beliefs. We consider our movement to be the result of the Protestant conviction Sola Scriptura—the Bible as the only standard of faith and practice for Christians. For more info, click this link: http://www.adventist.org/beliefs/

28 FUNDAMENTAL BELIEFS:
Currently, Adventists hold 28 fundamental beliefs that can be

organized into six categories—the doctrines of God, man, salvation, the church, the Christian life and last day events. In each teaching, God is the architect, who in wisdom, grace and infinite love, is restoring a relationship with humanity that will last for eternity. FRIDAY - 05 JUNE 2026

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55‬:‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭CEV‬‬
“Turn to the Lord! He can still be found. Call out to God! He is near. Give up your evil ways and your evil thoughts. Return to the Lord our God. He will be merciful and forgive your sins.”

"RETURN TO THE LORD 1"

"The part we have to act is to return to the Lord by confessing our sins to him and to one another. A broken and contrite heart he will not despise; but our self-righteousness is in his sight as filthy rags. With many, self is whole; but when they fall upon the Rock, and are broken, then the arms of Jesus will encircle them, and draw them close to his great heart of love. God will not do for us that which we can do for ourselves.... We do not see ourselves as God sees us; therefore we do not see the necessity of repentance, of humility, and of continual reliance upon him. There are efforts made in our own strength, but there is not a dying to self; the soul is not surrendered to God. Many are making a mistake here. They are hoping to overcome through their own efforts, and by their goodness gain the assurance of the love of God. They do not exercise faith; they do not believe that Jesus accepts their repentance and contrition, and so they toil on day after day without finding rest or peace. When the heart is fully surrendered to God, love springs up in the soul, and the yoke of Christ is easy, and his burden light. The will is swallowed up in God’s will, and that which was a cross, becomes a pleasure." [GW92 440.1-2]

WEDNESDAY - 03 JUNE 2026

‭‭MATTHEW ‬ ‭5‬:‭4‬ ‭NCV‬‬
“They are blessed who grieve, for God will comfort them.”

"BE STILL MY SOUL 2"

"By these words Christ does not teach that mourning in itself has power to remove the guilt of sin. He gives no sanction to pretense or to voluntary humility. The mourning of which He speaks does not consist in melancholy and lamentation. While we sorrow on account of sin, we are to rejoice in the precious privilege of being children of God. We often sorrow because our evil deeds bring unpleasant consequences to ourselves; but this is not repentance. Real sorrow for sin is the result of the working of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit reveals the ingratitude of the heart that has slighted and grieved the Saviour, and brings us in contrition to the foot of the cross. By every sin Jesus is wounded afresh; and as we look upon Him whom we have pierced, we mourn for the sins that have brought anguish upon Him. Such mourning will lead to the renunciation of sin." [DA 300.2-3]

TUESDAY - 02 JUNE 2026

‭‭PSALM‬ ‭42‬:‭5‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted in me? Hope thou in God: For I shall yet praise him For the help of his countenance.”

"BE STILL MY SOUL 1"

"Afflictions are oft mercies in disguise. We know not what we might have been without them. When God in His mysterious providence overthrows all our cherished plans, and we may receive sorrow in the place of joy, we will bow in submission and say, “Thy will, O God, be done.” We must and we will ever cherish a calm, religious trust in one who loves us, who gave His life for us. “The Lord will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life. I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? Why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? ... Why art thou cast down O my soul? Why art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise Him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
The Lord looks upon our afflictions. He graciously and discriminately metes them out and apportions them. As a refiner of silver He watches us every moment until the purification is complete. The furnace is to purify and refine, not to destroy and consume. He will cause those who put their trust in Him to sing of mercies in the midst of judgments.
He is ever watching to impart, when most needed, new and fresh blessings, strength in the hour of weakness, succor in the hour of danger, friends in the hour of loneliness, sympathy, human and divine in the hour of sorrow. We are homeward bound. He that loveth us so much as to die for us hath builded for us a city. The new Jerusalem is our place of rest. There will be no sadness in the city of God. No wail of sadness. No dirge of crushed hopes and buried affection shall ever more be heard.
God bless." [8LtMs, Lt 37, 1893, par. 4-8]

SABBATH DAY - 30 MAY 2026

‭‭ISAIAH‬ ‭1‬:‭17‬ ‭NCV‬‬
“Learn to do good. Seek justice. Punish those who hurt others. Help the orphans. Stand up for the rights of widows.”

"PRAISE THE LORD 3"

God calls to active righteousness — God tells His people that true spirituality is shown not by rituals but by justice, compassion, and defending the vulnerable. It teaches that a genuine relationship with God must transform how we treat others. Here's when God bluntly tells them what He truly desires — a life shaped by justice, mercy, and righteousness, not empty rituals. Here's why it is essential:Firstly, Learn to do good — Spiritual growth requires intentional practice, i.e., here the word “learn” implies training, discipline, and habit formation. Doing good is not automatic; it must be cultivated-evidenced by becoming accustomed to righteousness through repeated practice. Secondly, You grow spiritually by choosing to do good daily, that is, Holiness is a learned behavior, not instant perfection. Hence God values transformation over performance. Thirdly, Seek justice — Pursue fairness as a spiritual priority. Here's the word Seek means to actively pursue justice, not passively hope for it. It reflects God’s own character as a just judge. Thus, Justice is not optional — it is central to godliness, that is God expects believers to care about fairness in society. Finally, Spiritual maturity includes confronting wrongdoing. Here's Correct the oppressor / relieve the oppressed — Stand against abuse means to make straight or set right what is crooked. It calls for confronting those who misuse power. Therefore, Faith must challenge injustice, not ignore it which means God calls His people to protect the vulnerable., that is Compassion must be expressed through action. May we have the faith expressing itself through love and advocacy. Amen 🙏 "

FRIDAY - 29 MAY 2026

‭‭JOHN‬ ‭15‬:‭2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.”

"PRAISE THE LORD 2"

"We can praise God and bring Glory to His Name by bearing spiritual fruit and God's Word today strike Jesus’ Vine and Branches teaching. Jesus is the true vine, believers are the branches, and the Father is the vinedresser. How significant is this truth in our spiritual life?
Firstly, Fruit refers to the visible results of a life connected to Christ—character, obedience, love, holiness, and good works. Secondly, Unfruitful branches are removed, symbolizing those who are outwardly connected to Christ but lack genuine faith or transformation. Finally,
Fruitful branches are “pruned”, i.e., God allows discipline, trials, or correction to refine believers and make them more fruitful. May we remain intertwined with Christ that God can bless us with the pure and powerful sap of the Holy Spirit so we can fulfill God's Will and do things for His good pleasure. Amen 🙏 "

THURSDAY - 28 MAY 2026

‭‭PEOVERBS‬ ‭9‬:‭10‬ ‭ESV‬‬
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.”

"PRAISE THE LORD 1"

"Here's a foundational truth, it calls to mind that reverence for God is the foundation of all true wisdom, and that knowing God personally is what produces real understanding. How does it shape a believer?
Firstly, knowing God exposes two paths—wisdom and folly—and shows that the journey toward spiritual maturity begins with how one relates to God, i.e., wisdom doesn’t start with intelligence, experience, or education, but with a posture of reverence toward God. This “fear” is not terror—it is awe, humility, and recognition of God’s holiness and authority.
This foundation shapes how you interpret life, make decisions, and understand right and wrong.
Secondly, It orients the heart toward God, a relational knowledge, not just facts about God. In the Hebrew sense, to “know” God means to walk with Him, experience Him, and align your life with His character. This relational knowing is what produces true transformational experience known as spiritual living which can be seen outwardly as manifestations of spiritual leading. May we truly get to know God through our Saviour so the Holy Spirit can manifest His power upon us as we go about our journey. Amen 🙏"

WEDNESDAY - 27 MAY 2026

‭‭LUKE ‬ ‭1‬:‭37‬ ‭ESV‬‬
“For nothing will be impossible with God.”

"PRAY AT ALL TIMES 3"

Here's why the life of faith in God’s unlimited power and unwavering reliability should be exercised. It teaches believers that divine promises are not constrained by human limitations and that trust in God opens the door to transformation, dependence , and peace. HOW?
Firstly, we should ground our faith in God’s omnipotence. Call to mind that Luke 1:37 is when the angel Gabriel made the announcement to Mary, assuring her that the miraculous conception of Jesus is possible because God’s power transcends natural limits. This verse reminds believers that spiritual life is rooted not in what we can do, but in what God is capable of doing. Secondly, we must still trust God when circumstances seem impossible. Like Mary who faced a situation that defied logic and social norms. Yet the angel’s words called her to trust God beyond what she could understand. In our spiritual hourney, this verse becomes a call to surrender fear, doubt, and self-reliance, embracing God’s ability to work in ways we cannot foresee. Thirdly, we can lean on the reliability of God’s word, i.e., no word from God can fail—His promises carry the power of their own fulfillment. This means spiritual growth is built on confidence in God’s character, not on fluctuating emotions or circumstances. Finally, we must be people who can inspire hope in trials or any pressing situations. Hence, whenever we face moments that feel insurmountable—illness, loss, uncertainty, or spiritual dryness. Luke 1:37 becomes a source of hope, reminding us that God can bring life, healing, and breakthrough where human effort may fail or seem impossible. May we walk confidently and reliantly with our Saviour and surrender our threatening concerns to the Father who knew our lives and Who can address our predicaments. Amen 🙏"
