In 1958, the Armenian Prelacy of the United States of America was established. It represented under its jurisdiction, all of the churches in the United States and Canada. Over the years, as the number of churches grew, the Armenian Prelacy of America was divided into two jurisdictions: Eastern and Western. During this time, churches in Canada remained under the Eastern Prelacy of the Armenian Apos
tolic Church. As years continued to go by, more churches were built, and in 2002, the Armenian Prelacy of Canada was established. During this time, His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia appointed His Eminence, then Bishop, Khajag Hagopian, as Locum Tenens of the Canadian Prelacy. In February 2004, His Eminence Archbishop (elevated in 2003) Khajag Hagopian was elected as Prelate of Canada, becoming the first Prelate of the newly established Armenian Prelacy of Canada. In May 2006, His Eminence Archbishop Khajag Hagopian was re-elected as Prelate of Canada for another term, during the Canadian Armenian National Representatives Assembly in St. In May 2010, His Eminence Archbishop Khajag Hagopian was re-elected for the third time as Prelate of Canada at the Canadian Armenian National Representatives Assembly in Toronto, Ontario. In May 2014, His Eminence Archbishop Khajag Hagopian retired from Prelate duties. During this time, the Canadian Armenian National Representatives Assembly was held in Montreal, Quebec, elected His Grace Bishop Meghrig Parikian as the new Prelate of the Armenian Prelacy of Canada. In 2016, His Eminence Archbishop Papken Tcharian was elected as the Prelate of the Armenian Prelacy of Canada, by the Canadian Armenian Representatives Assembly. 6. Saint Boghos Armenian Apostolic Church in St. Catharines, Ontario.
7. Saint Vartan Armenian Apostolic Church in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
8. Saint Stephan Armenian Apostolic Church in Windsor, Ontario.
