As the crescent moon marks the beginning of 1448 AH, we are reminded of the profound lessons of Hijrah: faith in times of uncertainty, perseverance through hardship and trust in Allah’s plan even when the path ahead is unclear.
This Islamic New Year invites us to reflect on our journey with Allah, renew our intentions, seek his forgiveness and strive to draw closer to him. It is an opportunity to leave behind what distances us from our creator and move toward a life rooted in sincerity, purpose and submission to Allah.
Yet we also begin this year while witnessing immense suffering across our ummah. From Palestine and Sudan to communities facing oppression and displacement around the world, many of our brothers and sisters continue to endure unimaginable hardship. We carry their struggles in our hearts and pray that Allah grants them protection, relief and justice.
The story of Hijrah teaches us that even in the darkest moments, Allah’s promise remains true. It reminds us that hardship is not permanent and that faith can illuminate even the most difficult of journeys.
As we welcome 1448 AH, may Allah bless this year with peace, mercy and healing for our Ummah. May he accept our repentance, strengthen our faith and make us among those who embody the spirit of Hijrah by continually striving toward him.
