Alive - Youth Group

Alive - Youth Group Physically, your heart beats regularly. But spiritually, until you get to know God firsthand, your heart is flat-lining.

Are you ALIVE ?

“ I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh – Ezekiel 36:26

A beating heart is a sign of life. God promised the prophet Ezekiel (along with everyone who chooses to follow God) the ultimate heart transplant- replacing stone with flesh. This “flesh” is humanity as God originally create

d it which is more than simply being human. It is the promise of being fully ALIVE – physically, emotionally and spiritually –In both this life and the next. The people of Israel believed a person’s “heart” reveals who a person really is. The heart cannot put on airs or be something it is not. it is the emotional and spiritual center of every individual. When God’s Spirit becomes the center of people’s lives. The Bible says that they are “born again”
Along with a new heart comes a new start. However, this heart transplant is possible only through the power of God’s Spirit. Trying to become more loving, generous, and kind through self-effort can never being a heart of stone to life. only God’s gift of his presence can jump-start a heart into permanent change. God’s Spirit at work in you enables you to hear God’s voice as he guides your decisions, to see his hand as he moves through circumstances, and to fulfill his plans for you to become the person he created you to be. When God’s Spirit comes into your life; you are fully ALIVE for the very first time.

"Satan works very hard at corrupting healthy desires. He abhors seeing people's appetites satisfied. What he wants is to watch a person lusting after a good thing until he or she is controlled by the impulse to have it.

The Devil is pleased when people make themselves slaves to a desire that—in the proper context—the Lord intended to be enjoyed freely. A believer walking in the Holy Spirit rejects gluttony, preferring desires that are within God's boundaries instead. That's how we get His very best."

When we see a crowd, we see exactly that...a crowd. But; not so with the Shepherd. To Him every face is different. Every face is a story. Every face is a child. Every child has a name. The Shepherd knows His sheep. He knows each one by name. He knows you. He knows your name and He will never forget it !

"One of the scarier components of sin is its deceitfulness. Sin blinds. ... We tend to hold onto the delusion that no one had a more accurate view of ourselves than we do. We think no critique of our thoughts, desires, motivations, choices, words, and actions was more reliable than us. We think that the only questions and confrontation that we need is what we bring to ourselves. We are all too confident in our vision and all too trusting of our critique of ourselves. When others would question or confront us, without knowing it, we activate our inner lawyer and generate arguments in our own defense. Because sin blinds, God has set up the body of Christ to function as an instrument of seeing in our lives, so that we can know ourselves with a depth and accuracy that would be impossible if left on our own. But if we don't trust the vision help of others and rely solely on our view of ourselves, then we are left to our own blindness." HELP US LORD TO NOT BE DECEIVED BY OUR OWN SINS. HELP US TO RECOGNIZE THEM AND IF ANYONE POINTS ANY SIN OUT, TO NOT DEFEND OURSELVES. MAY YOU BE OUR ONLY DEFENDER. OPEN OUR EYES TO OUR HIDDEN SINS, GIVE US HUMILITY TO PRAY BY ASKING U TO REMOVE THEM AND THE WILL TO CHANGE FOR YOUR OWN GLORY.HAVE A BLESSED DAY ALIVE FAMILY !

"What is that war for the heart? I think it is most briefly and clearly summarized in a little phrase in 2 Corinthians 5:15: "Jesus died so that those who live would no longer live for themselves." Sin does something terrible to me. Sin turns me in on myself. Sin shrinks my life to the size of my life. Sin makes me obsessed with my wants, my needs, my feelings. Think about this, brothers and siste
rs. Sin is fundamentally antisocial, because sin causes me to love me more than anything else and to care for me more than anything else. It causes me to be obsessed by what I want, how I want it, when I want it, why I want it, where I want it, and whom I want to deliver it. Sin makes my life little more than "I want, I want, I want, I want, I want, I want, I want, I want, I want, I want, I want, I want, I want, I want, I want, I want, I want, I want, I want, I want, I want (are you getting the point?), I want. Sin morphs all of us into a bottomless vat of demands. I'm a vat of expectancy. I'm a vat of entitlement. I wish I could say that this is not the true me, but it is." Paul Tripp

TEACH ME LORD... TO NOT LIVE FOR MYSELF, BUT ACCORDING TO YOUR PURPOSE, IN YOUR WILL , CONFORMING TO YOUR WAY AND WAITING ON YOUR TIME. Have a blessed sunday everyone!

God's Provision for Your Failure by Bayless Conley

Psalm 37:23-24 states,"The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, and He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; for the LORD upholds him with His hand."

When you first read these verses, it is easy to focus on the truth that God orders the steps of a good man, someone who is following God. That is certainly a comforting, motivating, and powerful truth.

But I want to point you to the second sentence, Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; for the LORD upholds him with His hand.

What an amazing statement! Even when your steps are being ordered by the Lord, you can still goof up! God affirms that you may be seeking to walk with Him and you can still mess up, there is always that human factor.

Our flesh gets in the way. Sometimes we make wrong decisions. Sometimes we can be a bit stubborn. And sometimes we blow it, even when that is the last thing we want to do!

Here is what I want you to grasp today: Even if you mess things up, even if you stumble and fall, God will not utterly abandon you. He will support you, and He will lift you up with His hand.

The Bible says in the book of Deuteronomy that God is our refuge and our strength and that underneath us are His everlasting arms. That brings me a lot of comfort.

You and I may stumble, you and I may fall, but we are not going to stay down, because God's arms and His hands are underneath us, and they will uphold us.

Thank God for that!

"Living for pleasure never will bring pleasure, but living for God will bring pleasure as a side effect—not by seeking it, but by seeking Him. The Bible tells us that in His presence there is fullness of joy, and at His right hand are pleasures forevermore (see Psalm 16:11)."
Are you living for pleasure or living for God ?

Rejection? He felt it.
Temptation? He knew it.
Loneliness? He experienced it.
Death? He tasted it.
And stress? He could write a best-selling book about it.

Why did he do it? One reason.
So that when you hurt, you’ll go to him and let him heal you!

“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Hebrews 4:15.”

Have a blessed weekend!
